yooooo 700+?? thats insane- thank you so much what never expected to get this far- a year ago i was excited at getting close to 150 followers and now i've hit 700? thats crazy. thank you guys so much, it means a lot <3 so uh... i spent the past few days working on this art so when i saw i'd hit milestone i just went and screen-shotted my process because i never actually delete the layers i don't need i just hide them- So for this piece, i wanted to draw a skull and some moths because i love drawing both. I'm thinking of making a series where i draw moths and skeletons? like,, i'm planning on drawing skeletal hands with Privet Hawk Moths for the next piece if you guys are interested in seeing that. Anyway, the moth i drew in this piece was a Deaths Head Hawk Moth, which is one of my favorite moths ever i also thought the browns and yellows in the pallet would go well with the skull's color pallet But obviously, this project will contain moth drawings. i know some people are afraid of moths, so if this is the case for you, then i would encourage you not to view this project. if you still want to see the art without the moth drawings, then watch up to slide 13 but i wouldn't recommend going any further than this. slide 14 is fine, but it isn't super important to see. please look after yourself <3 ANYWAY here's the process: Click to change slide 1 - reference photo for the skull 2 - guidelines for outline and shading 3 - base colouring and sample pallet from the reference photo 4 - added more detail to the base colours 5 - more detail 6 - same as above 7 - at this point i was just screen-shotting all the different layers for the skull texture 8 - lol MORE detail 9 - same level of detail but i removed the guides 10 - added some shading to the skull 11 - bit more shading 12 - a bit of shadow 13 - more shadow 14 - vague plan for where i wanted to draw the moths 15 - reference photo for the moth and colour pallet 16 - moth lineart 17 - second moth lineart 18 - added a white layer behind the moths to make colouring easier 19 - removed the lineart for the second moth (i couldn't be bothered to draw it) and coloured the first 20 - edited moth's position and colored the lineart 21 - added the moth's shadow and a bit of shading to the body of the moth 22 - added a brown airbrush layer for the moth's shadow 23 -background added, a bit of lighting for the moth's body, and we're done!
