Friends: Sapling (https://toyhou.se/12389097.sapling), yeah so uh currently Sapling is his only friend- ~~~ Art: Me / @rocketpooch Design: @puffhaha
+---Backstory---+ Sprite's body was paralysed in fear, and the only movements he could make was trembling. Yelling and screaming wasn't what he expected to hear from his best friend. It was only an accident! "You've gone WAY too far this time, Sprite!" Hilda hissed at him, her eyes an icy cold glare. "I-I know... I'm sorry... B-but what do you mean by 'this time'?" Sprite asked nervously. "You're ALWAYS like this! Recklessly rushing into things! Never looking where you're going! And look what you've done, you pushed me! I thought today would be different, I thought I'd be immune to your playful sneak attacks!" She seethed with anger. Sprite looked around at their other friend who'd joined them at the pool, and his hopeful expression fell as Otso nodded in agreement with Hilda. "I agree. You seriously hurt Hilda today, I don't even know how long it'll take for her leg to heal." Otso stated in a serious tone. "L-look, I'm so sorry, ok? How was I supposed to know you'd land like that when I pushed you into the pool? Everyone pushes their friends into the pool! I've been pushed in so many times and never got hurt!" Sprite whined defensively. "Don't be insensitive, Sprite. If you had've been sensible for once in your life, none of this would've happened. I'm so sick of this... THAT'S IT! This is the final straw" Hilda yelled, unsheathing her claws. Sprite stepped back, his fur rising and eyes widening. "I've had enough! No more! I've kept this inside for so long, hahaha! It feels good to finally let it all out. Hahahaha! I won't have to deal with you anymore, Sprite! I'll just hang out with SENSIBLE friends from now on. Hahahaha!" Hilda laughed, and Sprite winced, thinking her laughter sounded somewhat psychotic. She was definitely at her breaking point... He stared as Hilda and Otso started walking away, leaving him alone. "Goodbye, Sprite. You'll be better off finding friends who are more like you. We could never match your level of energy... and you could never match our level of common sense." Otso called out to Sprite, turning around to look at him for the last time. Sprite stood there, stunned, tears rolling down his eyes for the first time in quite a while. He'd just lost two of his closest friends! It was true that they weren't alike... but even so, they'd let him stick around and follow them everywhere. He was shocked that they'd drop the friendship so quickly, because of an accident like this. Sprite stopped to think. No... it wasn't just this one time. What was Hilda saying before? Many times. He must've been really annoying and boisterous. He'd purposefully pushed both Hilda and Otso several times, and he thought it was fine because it never actually hurt them. But not this time. Hilda was right, they'd given him chances. But this was too much. Sprite sighed, jumping into the pool and swimming around, hoping it would clear his mind. But unfortunately, the peacefulness of the water couldn't take his mind off what had just happened. Instead, he was drowning. In his own emotions... in... everything went black, and Sprite lost consciousness. --- "H-hey! Wake up! Are you ok?" Sprite opened his eyes to see a brown cat with a scar on their left eye, a few bandages plastered on them and plant sprouts growing on their back standing over him with a concerned expression on their face. Their fur was soaking wet, and they were shivering from the cold. "Huh? Hi... who are you?" Sprite asked, and the cat stepped back. "I-I'm Sapling. But are you ok? You were d-drowning..." they asked. "....thank you... for saving me, Sapling... I'm Sprite." Sprite got up and shook his fur. He expected Sapling to turn away, but they stayed. "I-I didn't hear what happened, b-but from a distance I saw two cats yelling at you, walking away and then you j-jumped in the pool... and didn't come out... so I came to rescue you." Sapling explained nervously, stammering. They seemed quite shy... "Well, thanks Sapling. I don't know if I deserved being saved, but that was nice." Sprite sighed, and Sapling's ears went down. "Of course y-you deserved to be saved! Wh-what are you talking about?" Sapling cried. "Please tell me how to help! I can't st-stand seeing others suffer!" "But what if I'm causing others to suffer? I hurt my friend today. That's what happened. I was too reckless... I always have been. I'm better off not having friends if all I'm going to do is cause them pain!" Sprite mewed sadly, tears streaming down his face. "But I don't know how I'll live without friends. So I don't know what to do." He frowned and looked down. "Sprite... can I be your friend? Please?" Sapling asked, putting their paw on Sprite's. "I don't usually ask th-things like this... I don't know how to make friends... but I don't want you to be alone. And I'll accept you for who you are. P-plus... I don't really have any friends either..." "A-are you sure about that? You'd really be my friend?" Sprite clarified. "Of course." Sapling smiled shyly. ~~~ End?
