Hello, everyone! Welcome to the first of 3 SNWC, or Scratch Novel Writing Camp. This will be session will hopefully be in December. Depending on how well the first 3 sessions do I might make this tri-annual. Make sure to read the WHOLE description! ---------------- 1. When does camp start and end? December 1st- December 31st ---------------- 2. What is SNWC? SNWC is similar to SWC(Scratch Writing Camp), however, in SNWC you will be completing or starting novels of your own. You will learn how to write a novel and how to publish one. You will have a goal of how many chapters you want to finish and try to get it by the end of camp. Each time you finish writing a chapter you a leader will update your chapter goal. At the moment there will only be 8 Novels/cabins. Each cabin will be named off of a famous novel. Like SWC there is some competition. Each cabin will be competing to see which one can get the most points. Points can be earned by activities you and your fellow writers do. During camp, you can meet new people and get ideas on what to write. ---------------- 3. When do I have to turn in my application? You have to turn in your application by October 21st. ---------------- 4. Who chooses leaders and co-leaders and when? For the first session, I will be choosing leaders. I will comment on your profile by October 27th if I choose you. Co-leaders, however, will be chosen by leaders. If you don't get chosen it's ok. You can try again next session! ---------------- 5. Aren't leaders and co-leaders the same? Leaders and co-leaders aren't the same. Leaders have more quote on quote, "responsibilities" than co-leaders. Leaders are expected to be more active than anyone(except for the host of course), they also have to put chapter levels in, etc. Co-leaders are expected to help the leader out with those things. Co-leaders also can't change the description anymore because of the scratch update. ---------------- 6. When will camper sign-ups be released? They will be released on November 1st and close on November 28th. If you would like to be notified just ask. :) ---------------- 7. How do I know if you see my sign-up? I will be loving applications and if you remix my project I will see it in my messages so I ask that you don't put it in the comments unless you didn't remix the project. ---------------- 8. Can I do my sign up with a friend? No. It must be done by you. Inspiration is fine of course, but stealing or collaborating on applications is a definite no-no. ---------------- 9. How do I choose my co-leaders? You choose your co-leader depending on their creativity, quality, and personality. Do not just choose someone because they are your friend or sibling. You also shouldn't tell someone that they will be your co-leader before being chosen as a leader. ---------------- 10. What are the cabins? - Lord of the Rings - To Kill a Mockingbird - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Charlotte's Web - A Tale of Two Cities - Gone with the Wind - James and the Giant Peach - Romeo and Juliet ---------------- Things to remember: You can only choose 2 co-leaders. As a leader, you will be known as an "Author" As a co-leader, you will be known as an "Illustrator" Leaders will create a story for their cabin based on the original novel, but with a twist. I will choose based on activity, personality, accountability, creativity, and quality. If you haven't read the book for your cabin just search for a summary on google Your application MUST be in project format or I will not even consider you to be a leader/co-leader If possible try to read the books the cabins are named after! *DISCLAIMER: Not all the books are child-friendly. Look up the age group they are for before reading the books* Credits- for inspiration from SWC Canva for background music: Classic by MKTO The authors of the books that the cabins are named after me, for SNWC
