I'm just pointing out the horrible LGBTQ+ representation in Percy Jackson. Okay, so. Solangelo. Where do I even start? 1. Can we just take a moment to realize how underdeveloped this ship is? They literally just met at the end of BoO, and without any development, they're a couple in ToA. Like, did Rick think that adding a gay character was enough? That just because it was a gay couple, it didn't need development? 2. Let's talk about Nico. It's like Nico is just suddenly, out of nowhere, gay. There is absolutely nothing - and I mean NOTHING - that shows that he was always gay. It's just like "aH, lEt's PuT sOme MaGic FaIry dUst oN nIcO aNd turN hiM gaY1!!1!1!!" Like, no. Just no. 3. Honestly, Nico was a great character. Before Solangelo, that is. He had hopes, dreams, feelings, and, overall, seemed like an actual person. But after Will came in? Nico only thought about him. This further proves how toxic Solangelo is. </3 I really don't feel like writing more right now, so I'm just going to say this: as a former Solangelo shipper, I just want to say that yes, it's hard to believe in all the problems with your OTP. But, quite honestly, the LGBTQ+ representation in Percy Jackson is horrible - and at some point, you'll have to accept it and move on.
