HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CAMERON!! <3333 About: Today is his 16 birthday!! Even though my dear brother, Cameron, lost his battle leukemia exactly 3 years ago, my family and I still celebrate his birthday. Picture: This picture is a short drawing that I made. It's a brief drawing showing me and Cam. I'm the one with eyes closed and he's the one that I'm hugging <3 (and no, we are NOT naked!!). How We Celebrate: Since Cam passed away, my dad, mom, and I would bake a cake with his different favorite colors/things. The first year, we did a design of Star Wars. The second snowboarding and third (today's) a race car, because normally 16 year olds would get their driver's license and Cam always loved Hot Wheels when he was younger. After we finished the cake, we could put our presents and gifts around it and place it in his bedroom. Even though we know he will never get the presents, we still want to honor him. Tears are shed, but we will never forget about him. After, we go to the hospital where Cam stayed at, we would volunteer by helping nurses and playing games with other patients. Story: Cameron has always been 3 years older than me, and we used to fight like cats and dogs. We were totally different. Me being self-conscious and kinda shy. Him being a trouble maker and telling jokes. It all ended when he was diagnosed with cancer. I always wanted to be by his side, but I still had to go to school. I was so mad that I grabbed a razor, stormed into the bathroom and straight up shaved off my hair. I never regret my choice, but I was forever grateful when my brother and @Troub1e became friends. When I went to school, some people were confused and some even laughed at me when they saw that I was bald (I also didn't hide it, or what's the point of showing you care?). But after a few days, I snapped and told everyone about the situation. Everyone completely understood, and one of my closest friends even partially shaved off her head in support! After school every day, I would bike over to the hospital and check on my brother. He was doing very well until one day when the doctor said some heart-breaking news. She said that Cameron didn't have much time to live because he kept on getting many fevers and colds and it was tiring him out. Me, my family, and @Troub1e was stricken with grief, as we went into his room. The details are blurry, but it was the most heart breaking moment I ever had in my life. So to this day, I will never ever forget about my dear brother Cameron. He fought hard against cancer and is the strongest person I ever met <3 PS: There's a bonus inside the project! It's a picture of Cam a couple weeks before he passed. We edited the picture together :3
