Frisk, getting un-possessed shortly afterwards, was horrified of what they had done to their home, fled the AU (somehow. It’s a story I don’t feel like telling), without resetting. Since everyone was dead, and Frisk never reset, Willow was alone in her AU for about- 6 months. Evidently spending 6 months alone surrounded by dust and blood is dramatizing and causes insanity and depression. Shattered sensed all this negativity she was producing, and decided to go check it out. He found dog child, dog child reminded him of himself, and he decided to adopt Willow, telling her that the only way for her to avenge her dead AU is to destroy the killer, and everyone else’s AU’s, and she believed this. Shattered is a good influence.
