hi. yeah, that's right; i'm leaving. there are multiple reasons why which i'll talk about later but first I just want to say thank you. ik that's literally the cheesiest thing i could say but scratch has really helped me improve my art and talk with people and even make an irl friend by a crazy coincedence in 3rd grade who i still know. so yeah, i would most definitely be a very different person it i hadn't made a personal account this is so sappy i hate it. i can't believe i have 300 followers. ik in terms of scratch and like- internet stuff that's nothing but the fact that 300 people care about what i do and found some value in more my internet drawings is crazy. I might make a proper/more serious? project instead of some blocks of text nest to a frog tea party lol. ok anyways, here are some reasons why i'm quitting a) not the right platform for me this one is pretty self-explanatory. scratch is a coding website for kids. I use it to post art. It just doesn't work that well for art. I upload a picture to the backdrop, write a description and press share. absolutely no coding involved. Of course there's nothing wrong with sharing art on Scratch but i'm starting to find that it doesn't really work for me. I've started posting my art on a certain green and black art site 0_0 (my userename is prismatic-glow) b) loss of interest again, pretty self-expanatory. and simmilar to the previous one. I'm just not reallly interested in Scratch anymore. I used to do more coding but I don't really enjoy that anymore and i've kinda gotten bored of the stuff I do here. (roleplaying, posting, adding to studios, commenting on projectsl, ect). I might be getting off-topic but a lot of the things i'd like to do in a place were I post my art aren't really possible on scratch and if they are you've kinda got to do it in more of a makeshift way. c) the userbase OK OK FIRST OF YA'LL ARE AMAZING AND I PROMISE THIS ISN'T TARGETED AT ANYBODY AT ALL THIS IS JUST SOMETHING I'VE NOTICED. The majority of people here are super amazing and nice but i've noticed a few things that are starting to bother me a little more. Especially since this is a kids site with a lot of the people here being younger. One of these things is people being really like- dramatic? and making a big deal out of things. Like if somebody does something that's rude or a little mean i'll see people spam invite others to studious where they tell them to go attack them and like spam their profile and mass-report theme. obv it's not good to be rude/mean but /please/ don't have people attack somebody. There are way better ways to handle things. Or like with repetitive trollers, it's best to contact st instead of spamming their profiles stuff and making a ton of projects about what's happening. Unless it's like a serious issue that needs attention and awareness ofc. d) new hobbies or something this one is pretty small but there are new things I like! I use resin, and I recently got a mechanical keyboard. I got my first bjd recently. I've been wanting to wear fairy kei and I have a cricut machine. I also really love Star Wars. A lot of these are pretty niche and more artsy, and none of them really have a community on scratch. On other sites that are focused on art there's gonna be more people who are interested in these more uncommon? things. I've been able to find more people who like these things on the green and black art site, instant graham cracker, red and black video site, and the chatting site this cord trying to avoid the filtering system here is really hard TwT oh and one more reason, one of the reasons I logged onto scratch recently had some drama or something which uncovered some issues, I feel pretty eh about it now combined with some problems I already had withn it. sorry if i've made some typos, I also had huge blocks of text that I tried to seperate cuz for me at least, I have trouble reading super big blocks of text without highlighting it in sections and even then my eyes tend to wander. I was just kinda typing from my head and letting my thoughts out so this might sound a little messy
Like I said, I'll post a project in a little bit with more defined reasons for leaving, a place that i'll periodically and a more proper goodbye. ily all, -rainbow
