This is my entry for Bubble, I might make one for Mush, Stargaze, or Lunar later when I have more motivation. Edit: I entered for Mush as well. (New) Mush Bio Name: Mush Nickname: Shroomie Gender: He/him Backstory: Mush twitched in his nest. A sharp acidic scent filled his nose. He lifted his head and blinked open his eyes. A bright hot light was outside of the den. “Mommy?” He asked. His mother shifted in her nest to face him. “Yes?” “What’s that?” Mush asked, pointing to the lights outside. His mother, Orchid looked outside and gasped. “Mush, we need to leave.” She picked him up and started running. “But why mommy?” “That thing outside is fire. It’s very dangerous, which is why we need to leave.” They ran for a while, barely escaping the fire. Orchid started panting. “Shroomie? Do you think that you can run by yourself for a bit? I’m afraid I can’t carry you anymore.” Orchid set Mush down and gave him a push. Mush ran as hard as he could, even though he was only 7 moons. His mother gasped and collapsed. “Mommy!” Mush cried out, stopping. “Keep going Shroomie.” “But mommy!” Tears were forming in his eyes. “You have to keep going.” “Mommy!” Mush was sobbing. The fire was getting dangerously close, and he could feel the heat on his pelt. “I love you Mush.” “I love you too, Mommy.” Reluctantly, he started running, tears still running down his face. Mush didn’t know how long he had been running. The fire just kept coming. Finally, he reached the end of the forest. The fire had slowed by now, and it was far behind him. He stopped for a break, and found himself in a meadow, with a large pond right in front of him. Suddenly, he started crying again. His mom was gone. She would never be there again. He would never hear her tell him stories or call him Shroomie again. She was gone. Forever. He was sobbing uncontrollably. He fell asleep after a few minutes, exhausted from all of the running. He blinked open his eyes, and saw a bight light right in front of his face. He yelped and jumped up, reminded of fire. As his eyes focused, he saw that it was not a fire but a firefly. Even with all that happened, he smiled a bit. He had always loved fireflies. They had the light of fire, but not the unbearable heat and destructive quality. The firefly hovered in front of hime and started to fly away and stopped, as if waiting for him. Mush decided to follow it. Several more appeared, seeming to come out of thin air. He followed them for a long time, through the meadow and a marsh. They reached the edge of another forest. He looked at the trees cautiously. /What if it happens again?/ Mush thought. /There’s not a reason to be following these fireflies anyway/. Yet something inside told him to keep going. He couldn’t really describe it. Mush took a deep breath and stepped into the forest. The fireflies started going forward again. Eventually, Mush started hearing a roaring sound. A waterfall! It probably would’ve looked beautiful during the day, but the fireflies only provided minimal light and he couldn’t see much of it. However, there did seem to be a white light coming from /behind/ it. Curious, he followed the fireflies to an entrance that lead behind the waterfall. He gasped. Right in front of him was possible the more beautiful thing he’d ever seen. A glowing white crystal stood in the center of a cave, its white light colliding with the golden light of the fireflies circling it. He stepped closer to the crystal, intrigued about how it glowed. He tapped it with his paw. A blinding flash of white cam across his vision and he went unconscious. When we woke up, it was daytime. The crystal had stopped glowing, and was now a dull gray, the fireflies gone. He walked out from the cave and looked at the waterfall. He had been right earlier. It /was/ beautiful. In fact, it rivaled the beauty of the crystal behind it. He swallowed, and found that his throat was paper dry. He went over to the small pool the waterfall created and took a sip. He jumped back from the water. /What is that?/. He looked again and saw the same thing. A cat that looked just like him, but with a mushroom hat and mushrooms for a tail. /Could that be… me?/. He felt the top of his head, and found, with dismay, that there was hat there. Just like the reflection. /What did that crystal do to me?/ he thought. /Is this who I am now?/ He felt like sobbing again, but no tears came out. To his surprise, when he put his paw down, a red mushroom shot up from around it. TO BE CONTINUED Mwhahaha suspense- Long story short: Fire destroys Mush's home, his mom died, Mush is depressed, then finds crystal and becomes a magical mushroom-cat
