WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right, overanalyze now, hype later. Ok, so use the arrow keys or click to navigate the slides. My comments on the pictures are below: Pictures 1+2: First off, this is actually pretty cool. The loading screen icon is 3D now. Picture 3: More weapons confirmed! From left to right, we have the bow (of course), the Splash-O-Matic, the Undercover Brella, and Glooga Dualies. Yep, dualies are coming back! Picture 4: From left to right, there’s the .96 Gal, some kind of Charger (Probably the Splat Charger), the Clash Blaster (oh no), and the Splat Roller. Picture 5: Another new map, this one’s in the city! (UPDATE: It’s called Eeltail Alley.) Picture 6: Burst Bombs are confirmed, and more of the new map. It has bridges, so that’s cool. Picture 7: In the middle is the new crab special. You ride it, and the cannons on the side shoot pretty fast. Picture 8: The crab special again. You can also go inside it and roll around like a Baller. Picture 9: Last thing for the crab. The center cannon shoots blasts similar to Inkjet shots, but they have a larger explosion radius. Picture 10: The Splat Roller gets a new special weapon: Throwing this down creates a forcefield that blocks ALL attacks. Whoever uses it can still shoot outside, though. Picture 11: Museum d’Alfonsino is back! Also, you can see that new Stingray-like special towards the left of the screen. (UPDATE: This special is called the Killer Wail 5.1) Pictures 12-14: NEW SPECIAL! Until we get an official name, I’m calling this one the Grappler (UPDATE: Nintendo confirmed that this is called the Zipcaster). You fire it at a wall, then it pulls you to it, causing an inksplosion on impact. This one’s on the Splash-O-Matic. Picture 15: Also, it looks like you return to where to first used the Zipcaster when it runs out, just like Inkjet. Also like Inkjet, you get a super-obvious marker telling everyone exactly where you’ll land! Oh yeah, on the right there’s also some really good art where posts would go. On the left is another post spot, that either shows a new hairstyle, or one of the idols of the game, or an Octarian. I’m not sure which. Picture 16: ooooh airport? Picture 17: Wha- OHMYGOSHWHATSHAPPENING Picture 18: Oh, it’s an Octarian- WAIT WHY IT BE FUZZY Picture 19: New Hero Mode, new Hero Gear! Cool new headphones, sneakers, and an ever-so-slightly-different Hero Hoodie. Lil’ Buddy is here, too! Also, that is one epic-looking weapon! Picture 20: Where’s Lil’ Buddy? And what happened to the cool Hero Gear? Picture 21: Woah, what’s this? Also, still missing the Hero Gear… Oh, but Lil’ Buddy gets a piggy-back ride! Picture 22: Are those… Easter Island Moai statues??? And it doesn’t look like this is in a dome… Picture 23: …And now we’re in China. Also, if you look at the part I circled, you can see the Hero Airpods! Pictures 24+25: Judd Lore? Picture 26: THE OCTARIAN HAS NO BOOTS, REPEAT: THE OCTARIAN LOST HIS BOOTS IN CHINA Picture 27: That’s either an plane or a spaceship boarding tunnel, and I’m leaning towards the second. WAIT HOL UP WHATS THAT RED STUFF AT THE RIGHT Picture 28: What’s this? New brands, maybe? Picture 29: WOAH WOAH WOAH- Okay, so this is most definitely an old HUMAN science project. There’s English writing in cursive (Bad cursive, of course, so we can’t read much clearly), and it’s about a squid. Not INKLING, but a SQUID. This is from over 12,000 years before the events of the Splatoon series! Picture 30: Oh no… what happened to this dome? Picture 31: This artwork looks pretty similar in style to artwork from the first Sunken Scroll of Splatoon. This one, however, seems to depict the Eiffel Tower being swept away. This confirms that the Tower did not get moved when the world first flooded during the human era, but rather much more recently, as seen by the presence of an Inkling watching the Tower. Picture 32: Is this the news? Picture 33: Lil’ Buddy has power eggs? Picture 34: Oh, you threw Lil’ Buddy, ok. WAIT YOU JUST THREW LIL’ BUDDY YOU MONSTER Picture 35: Huh, he just got rid of that…Mario Sunshine graffiti??? What is that stuff? (UPDATE: It’s called Fuzzy Ink) Picture 36: LIL’ BUDDY IS RIDING IN THE BACKPACK AND IS BEING VERY CUTE AND I LOVE HIM Picture 37: Stargazing with Lil’ Buddy in front of some Japanese Torii gates! …Wait, the gates are floating, what’s going on? Pictures 38-40: Pretty cool pixel art! Picture 41: Cap’n Cuttlefish is ready for Hawaii! …But where’s his hat? Picture 42: Who’s that wearing the Cap’n’s hat? Could it be… Picture 43: *GASP* CAP’N THREE?!?!?! Callie and Marie are here, too! Picture 44: If this is the same structure from picture 27, then yeah, that was a spaceship. Cool, can’t wait to see what its for. Picture 45: Red light = Scary Pictures 46+47: Octavio is back with the Octobot King III! Continued in the Notes and Credits because this got too long \/
Picture 48: MAYDAY MAYDAY OCTOBOT KING IS GOING DOWN Picture 49: And here we are, with a clear view of the spaceship. Also, this is in a dome, as you can tell by the sky, but it’s really different from the old ones. The panels are triangles instead of rectangular or hexagonal, and not one of them is broken. What is this place? Picture 50: Splatoon 3 written in Inklish is cool! Picture 51: nonononono don’t touch that! Picture 52: Told you… Huh, so that’s what the Fuzzy Ink does when you touch it. Picture 53: And so, the Hero Mode has a name: Return of the Mammalians! Picture 54: Finally, we have the Hero Mode artwork. It looks pretty nice! Somebody in the Youtube comment section for the trailer noticed that the losing sound effect from Salmon Run plays at the end of the trailer but reversed, right before “Return of the Mammalians” appears. Thanks for reading this whole thing, sorry I talked so much! Oh and did I mention the music? IT’S AWESOME
