Because their called winter back wasps is their color and they survive through winter but can not live through hot heat. Highly venomous to people, you wont feel the painful sting, which is just like getting a flue shot but later you will feel much much worse pain. these wasps are the size of a tissue box which is very very surprisingly large! Winter back wasps buzzing is very very loud so you might want to cover your ears more than likely louder than a cicada!
