Press the green flag to start. This is an animation I made describing what human dignity is, and what it looks like in our everyday life. Human Dignity is important in our lives because it shows how everyone is the same because we were created equally by God. Note: This project was made for school. Finished animation on Saturday 16th October. Enjoy!
The script for the animation: What is human dignity? Human dignity is the right everyone has as a human being, and this should be respected by all people. Each of us were made and created in the image of God, so each of us deserve to be treated and respected fairly and kindly. Being created in the image and likeness of God means that we have a close and spiritual connection to God, who we are to love, so each of us are to love one another, as we all share the image and likeness of God within us. Everyday example: The Golden Rule There are many ways that human dignity looks like in the world, but one example is ‘The Golden Rule’. The Golden Rule is the principle of treating others as one wants to be treated. In other words, it is saying that whatever we do to others, others would do to us. Each of us has the human dignity of being respected, so we all have the right to each be treated in the same way, and this is what the Golden Rule is all about. Why hurt and mistreat someone if you wouldn’t want to be treated that way. Everyone has the right to be treated kindly and respectfully, but everyone also has the responsibility to treat others kindly and respectfully. Abuse of human dignity: Sadly, in this world, many people fail to realise what human dignity is, and the majority of people do not respect others and treat them equally and fairly. Despite the fact that slavery is prohibited worldwide, it is still seen today. People are still being tortured today, and this hasn’t changed for a long time. During World War II, almost 6 million Jews were murdered in the holocaust because of Hitler, who hated Jews. This is a terrible and awful thing, because the Jewish people were innocent and did nothing wrong. No one has the right to be tortured like this. Each human has the same rights and responsibilities, and we need to take these words written on a paper, and turn them into actions. To change the world, we don’t need one good person who always listens, but we need everyone to participate, and to finally learn how to live in peace and harmony alongside each other.
