His single mother was always out working, and the other children his age saw him as too hyper. The story of his absent father combined with the other District 11 children's dislike of him has caused Leo to be very clingy and overprotective of any friend he may come across, out of fear of them leaving him. His mother was pretty submissive, so he was forced to engage in brutal training sessions with his father. After being pressured to join the Peacekeeper program early, Silver quickly cracked under the pressure. After a mission went horribly wrong, Silver was punished severely by his dad, and sent to District 12, the poorest District. Silver is often ostracized and attacked because of his Peacekeeper father.
