Cat by day… also cat by night… Muffin had never had such a vivid dream before. She was standing on a road, except it was huge- much bigger than anything that she had seen before, out of the car windows. Enormous silver buildings towered over her head, glinting in the bright sunlight. Shining cars of all shapes and sizes rushed by on either side of her. It was scary, yet beautiful. And it was hers. She could just tell. There were people, good people, everywhere. They all loved her. This was her home. And then it happened. The bright blue sky turned to black. Huge monsters emerged from behind buildings, gutters and fountains. They were every colour, all different sizes, all with different faces. And yet, they had one thing in common. They radiated fear. Muffin tried to move, but her paws were stuck in place. Buildings disintegrated before her very eyes, and she could do nothing. It was chaos. People were screaming. Evil laughter was everywhere. Windows were smashed, metal was bent. One voice sounded over all the rest. “Your fault,” it said, “can’t help…”
