--------------------------------------------------------------------------- this looks like a mini art dump but in reality. it is a ramble in disguise. u have been warned (click to zoom!!) anyway 3 pieces!! one scene for each of these characters!! ok so for this, you gonna need some context i uhh. i made another fictional universe. tides was simply not enough let me introduce you to... meraki!!! basically meraki is my newest fictional universe (fresh from the brainstorm!!) it's kinda like a video game world like animal jam or fer.al or whatever- npcs, you can fast travel to different locations, change your appearance, level up, etc etc its basically a fun world for ocs to hang out in!! no logic needed. character doesn't fit in? no worries! nobody here really fits!! that's the beauty of it. its a miscellaneous land of everyone havin fun. like, you're an impossible hybrid? most of them are anyway! they just spawned bro! and maybe they started as a pure animal but then they leveled up and customized and stuff its so fun i love this lil world already also a lot of it is reviving and sort of reincarnating characters, in a sense. when i was like 5-10 i would play all day with my boxes of animal figurines and istg if you took one out of the pile i could tell which one was missing, i know these lil dudes and every role in every story they played so well- there were always constants, those two german shepherds were always brothers, this one horse was always a leader, etc no matter the story so it feels right to give them one last story instead of them sittin on the shelf for even more years, so i'm reincarnating as many as i can into merakians! <3 also i imagine the animals from the box might feel a strange familiarity with each other even if they haven't met and i think its very sweet OKAY with all that out of the way meet akiara, comet, and lyr, the guardians of meraki!! they're sort of deities/mythological figures and have inspired a ton of myths, superstitions, and traditions. they are rarely seen but known to be real, almost every merakian believes in them on some level akiara [they/them] - the scaly unicorn deerish one - deity of fate, destiny, wisdom, luck - acts as a leader of the trio, v quiet and graceful and definitely the wisest creature in meraki by a long shot. - the most self-aware creature in meraki. is almost fully aware of their situation; how many merakians, including themself, are long-lost kin from the toy box, and just generally the fictional nature of their world itself. akiara walks the thin line between worlds and can see past the veil of the fiction - lives at the highest mountain peak in a geode cave! this cave is actually infinite, as a sort of wormhole pocket dimension type thing. it's a crevice between universes, and if you gaze long enough at the crystals, an entirely different story will be seen in the reflections. - thousands of spinning wind chimes of all sorts line the landscape, both inside and outside the cave and down the mountain - the cave is almost nearly impossible to reach; only a special chosen few merakians will ever find it comet [he/him] - the colt with the flaming mane - deity of courage, determination, strength - he's very serious and not playful, has a temper; pretty much lyr's opposite - lives in the stars - manages constellations, planets, and other celestial happenings lyr [she/her] - the lavender furred lynx - deity of adventure, celebration, joy - very playful and very mischievous; interacts with merakians the most - lives on the moon apparently? - can walk on moonbeams! she loves to play and jump on them superstitions/tales inspired by the guardians - comet is said to race shooting stars to the horizon; meteor showers are seen as lucky signs of courage sent from the foal, and many festivals spring up in their wake- the most popular being races or marathons! - comet's will and determination keeps the constellations in place, just as it inspires strength in the merakians. - when the moon shrinks too small to live on, lyr descends to the land to play tricks and pranks. if something goes awry during a crescent or new moon, you know who to blame! - if you spot lyr playing on moonbeams during a full moon, you could be granted a wish. but it's nearly impossible; she moves almost too quickly to be spotted at all. be careful though! whatever wish you make, lyr will take it completely literally. watch your words! - due to the constant chiming echoing from akiara's mountain, wind chimes are very popular in meraki and seen as trinkets to bring good fortune continuing to n&c!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- read instructions first!! spoilers below, they wont make any sense though . . . . . - this wind chime abundance seems counterproductive at first though, as it is said only a few chosen ones will ever reach akiara's cave and the noise of wind chimes would guide them up the mountain. however, this is useful! in the legends, akiara would sound a pure chime and only chosen animals could hear the difference; decoy chimes would be sounded by lyr to guide fakes away. all these normal wind chimes just make lyr's job easier haha - also in that legend, comet's duty would be supplying the adventurer(s) with strength and determination. without this blessing, they would never reach the top. - it is said upon reaching the cave, the traveler(s) would receive a blessing from akiara themself. this blessing is unknown and unspecified, but highly desired. - many villages and towns sprawl on and beneath akiara's mountain!! still, nobody's climbed past cloud level....yet ;D aaaAAAAAA I LOVE WORLDBUILDING,, this is so fun isnt it?? i hope yall find this as cool as i do. i love meraki already and this is only the beginning!! i have so much meraki content planned!! so!! much!! i can't wait for yall to meet the characters ive known for years. i finally wont be the only person to know the toybox animals anyway that wraps up this ramblefest! congrats on surviving those walls of text. go have a cookie u deserve it i hope ur looking forward to meraki because this lore is about to get spicy,, like, lore animatic spicy. using the song "the nowhere king" from centaurworld spicy. get ready!!!! for spice!!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- art by me, dont steal or trace its so easy to tell when someone does that music by joel g code: @colorsnatch thank you to the box animals for giving me such a lovely story of stories to build this little world off of. last time i put you on the shelf i promised i wouldnt forget you, this is my proof. welcome to meraki. <3 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
