NOTE: This game is in alpha which means that there are a lot of things missing (Special stages and Super Sonic are not in-game yet) and there is a risk of bugs. Please, tell me about any you may find, even if you are not sure whether something is intentional or not. Also tell me if something is unfairly difficult (also if something is too easy). :) Controls: Start game when in menu: Space Bar. Walk Left: A. Walk Right: D. Jump: Space Bar. More controls MAY be added. NOTE: There are certain points where you may get stuck. Here's what you should do if it happens at one of these points: Start of Hydrocity Act 2: Hold right until the Knuckles Cutscene saves you. Carnival Night Act 2 after cutscene: Hold left until you fall down a hole that leads you to the end of the zone. Launch Base Act 1 near invincibility monitor: Hold left until you end up in the building you probably just left and then keep holding left until you stand on the floor again in the building. To prevent this from happening again try to jump right when you touch the right edge of the screen. Facts about the game's development: 1) Originally this project was made without any plans to release it. 2) Proper development of the game started in August 2021. 3) During the game's development I have saved nine prototype versions. The earliest is from 6th September 2021 and has a size of 50,456 KB. Version 0.1 of the game released 30th December 2021 and had a size of 128,022 KB!!! (And now in V0.1.2 it is 128,692 KB). 4) When I uploaded the first version of the game it didn't save first try which gave me bad flashbacks from my Baldi's Basics Plus game where I never got to make the "final update" because it was too heavy a game. Luckily it saved in second try. 5) The last animations to be added before alpha release were drawn a few hours before release. 6) 26 teaser images in total have been uploaded from 21st October 2021 to 30th December 2021. 7) I've split up the game just like Sega so you have something to play while I make the rest. 8) Angel Island Zone was originally designed to learn the player how to play the game so in V0.1 it featured only four areas. In V0.1.1 nine areas were added. 9) If you're still reading then good job! There is a sound test menu in the game. To access it you need to -Start the game by putting the cartridge in the console. -When the screen says No! Sense Games and Kasahara07 presents press UP x2, DOWN x2, UP x4. When the menu pops up hold A and click the Space Bar. Navigate the menu with WASD, use E to try a sound and press Space Bar to select level. Cheat codes in sound test: 20-21-12-30 (the game's release date): All 7 chaos emeralds. Super Sonic isn't available yet, but his code exists. Just select a level after that, collect 8 rings and enjoy. 17-69-06 (the only of my followers who has a name that can be typed in here lol): Activates the "1993 prototype music" for Carnival Night Zone, Ice Cap Zone and Launch Base Zone. If you want to remix the game be aware that there are some broadcasts that are named in Danish (which is my first language) because the game was not originally intended to be released. In the code for the background there is a comment translating the meaning of those broadcasts.
The game is a recreation of the original Sonic 3 game released in 1994 by Sega. Characters and music belong to them and: Brad Buxer, Bobby Brooks, Darryl Ross, Geoff Grace, Doug Grigsby III & Scirocco who are all credited in the real Sonic 3 game. The sprites and backgrounds are all drawn by me. Sound effects are currently mine, but I will most likely replace my sound effect with those from the original game. Update logs: V0.1.1 (3rd January 2022) -Five new areas in Angel Island Act 1. -Four new areas in Angel Island Act 2. -Tails can't go through walls anymore. -Fixed being able to use sound test when in a level. V0.1.2 (10th January 2022) -New sound effects (picking up a ring, jumping, cannon fire, breathing from a bubble). -Tails can now pick up lost rings. -Bubbles can now only be breathed from if you jump into them. -I have changed the NO! Sense Games intro logo to something looking more like the Sega logo. -You can no longer skip the Hydrocity boss by jumping when entering the area while still in the air. -You can now also eject a cartridge in the game's menu. -The cannon ball ramp in Launch Base will now always be lowered when the boss is beaten so it doesn't block you from advancing. -The cannon in Carnivall Night now has the same light level as the rest of the some. -Removed a collision coding mistake in one of the newer areas in Angel Island Zone that could make you get stuck (the one at the slope near water). -You can no longer go back after pressing the button in Angel Island act 1. -Made a small cooldown between two areas in Angel Island, so the collision won't get messed up if you walk between them too fast. V0.1.3 (29th January 2022) -Have fixed some of the spawn points in different levels. -Moved the activation point for Ice Cap Zone Act 1's boss a bit to the left. -Added "ceiling" to the collision system to make it more smooth instead of using "wall" as a ceiling. -Changed the way the water pillar in Hydrocity Zone works so it doesn't have effect on the Marble Garden intro. -When a zone's name is shown you will get full air.
