I feel a little late saying this, because technically I’ve been gone for months. Everything I said when I posted the warning that I would soon be leaving remains true. Scratch was an amazing place to grow up, but it’s time for me to move on. Since this is likely my final post on here, I want to close up some loose ends, so here are some questions you might have: Q: What’s the link the that last post you mentioned? A: I express a lot of my feelings on the downsides of this community here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/475490055/ Q: What will happen to your maps? A: I’ve decided that these will likely remain unfinished. Contact me on th or ig if you are interested in rehosting one, but if you had a part in one of my maps, please don’t take it down! Just because the greater project won’t be completed, doesn’t mean you need to take that away. Unless, of course, you aren’t comfortable leaving it up for any reason. I won’t stop you from unsharing :) Q: Please don’t go! *insert sappy and misspelled rant abt me being your inspiration* A: I’m sorry, but I’ve already decided to move on. I’ve lost interest in a lot of what tied me to this site, and I’m moving on to a new stage of my life. I’ve been here since I was very young; it’s unhealthy for me to sit around in an account I don’t have the energy to maintain at anyone’s request. Q: Where can I find you now? A: My social medias are linked in my “what i’m working on”! I’m most active on ig, tumblr, and th. Feel free to drop by! I think about memories from this site just about every day. If we were mutuals on here, don’t think I’ll forget you! I had a great time here, but this community has grown to be irredeemably toxic. Art theft is a rampant issue that is easily forgiven under the site rules, and this really just isn’t the place for an artist. I know there’s a huge art community on Scratch, but that is not this site’s intention, and I hope that younger artists than me realize that. The nature of this site means you may find yourself in a small community and forget that this is still primarily a coding site. So this is goodbye. If you miss my art, don’t beg for me to stay! Just check out my other sites. I do have a personal account on Scratch which I use for school, but I will not be sharing it here. I’m probably going to stop checking my mail permanently pretty soon; lately, I’ve been checking my messages less than once a week. If you’d like to drop a final message, I’ll likely read all of them. This community means a lot to me, and this is the first place I ever grew a following. Heck, you guys are still my largest following on any social media! I’m not sure what final word to leave you with; after so many years here, anything feels like it would be too little. So I’ll just say this: goodbye. I’m going to remember my childhood on scratch for years to come, but I also need to leave the past behind me. music: waving to you ; from the adventure time soundtrack, feat. rebecca sugar
