“Rise of BloodClan” (Inspired and based off of Erin Hunter’s ‘Warriors’ saga) Prologue: Hollyfern, BloodClan’s medicine cat, stood before her pile of herbs. Yarrow, juniper berries…that should be enough, she thought. She looked through the pile of herbs, making sure she had them all, but got interrupted by a loud yowling in the warriors den. “Good riddance,” she murmured to herself as she padded out of her den. As she trotted out she could see cats gathered around the Meetingplace, where all the Clan cats met when the leader needed to speak. “What’s going on?” Hollyfern wondered aloud, as Fallenoak, a big, brown tom, answered for her, saying, “it’s Crowflight!” Crowflight was Hollyfern’s best friend. She was an all black she-cat with deep, vibrant, blue eyes that were always either filled with kindness, humor, respect or anger. But never jealousy. She was one of the most honored cats in BloodClan. “What’s going on with her?” Hollyfern could feel the anxiety begin to flutter around in her stomach, like butterflies just out of their cocoon. “She…she’s being exiled,” replied Firefly, Hollyfern’s other great friend. Firefly was a gray, young, talented she, with mustard yellow eyes. Hollyfern began to rage. “What? Why would Stone do something like that?” “And what’s worse is that just a moon ago he promised to be the best leader BloodClan has ever seen, by finally obeying the warrior code and believing in StarClan. But exiling an innocent cat? He’s lost it.” Fallenoak was also fuming. “It’s just asinine!” “Couldn’t have said it better,” Hollyfern remarked. “Same,” Firefly retorted. “Great StarClan.” “Such an arrogant, lofty, squalid excuse for a leader,” Fallenoak added. Yowling came again, this time from Stone, the leader of BloodClan. He was on top of the high rock in the middle of the Meetingplace. “For all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather around the Meetingplace for another BloodClan meeting.” Firefly snorted. “At least he’s getting better at wording the introduction!” Hollyfern grunted in agreement. Even though Stone was making BloodClan somewhat more like ThunderClan and the Clans like that, he still had his ups and downs. “We are all gathered here today for something deadly important. So hurry up!” Stone glanced at the tom and two she-cats. “Sheesh,” Hollyfern snorted as she and the other two warriors padded over to the Meetingplace. “As I was saying,” Stone said dryly, “we have something important to discuss. You all know the once trusted warrior Crowflight, right?” No cat gathered by the Meetingplace seemed surprised, just bored. “Looks like this wildfire has already spread.” Hollyfern observed. Stone continued, “well once again she has been caught traveling to the farther Clans, WildClan and RiverClan, for example.” No cat continued to be surprised. “As a result,” Stone concluded. “Crowflight, the once mighty, trusted, kind Crowflight will be exiled from BloodClan….” But before Stone could continue, a black warrior pounced on him, making him fall to the ground. For the slightest second one warrior would think she would kill the leader, but instead Crowflight just pinned him down, with a glint of humor in her eyes. “Great StarClan, only if hedgehogs fly, will I be exiled!” Crowflight chuckled. “Now, instead of that, maybe you should mention what we discussed before-” “Never,” Stone rasped. “Never will they know your lies.” Crowflight sighed. “They’re not lies, you stup!d furball, they’re truth. And if you want to be a good leader, you should tell the truth. You should know that, out of all the past leaders of BloodClan! “Now…who’s ready to hear the truth?”
