Spirits live there, but spend most of their time running the mortal world by bringing a balance of negative and positive things into the world. Name: Tar [ I like that, I'm gonna keep that name ^u^ ] Gender: Male, but he's okay with they/them pronouns as well. :D Age: 3 cat years, almost 4 :> Species: Demon spirit, but not like other demon spirits. He's shy, and doesn't like bringing hurt and trickery into the world. Personality: - Shy - Very unstable - Terrified of being overcrowded and likes being left alone - If he chooses to be with someone though, he doesn’t mind - Only demon spirit trait: He’s really very clumsy - ALWAYS wants to help, never misses an opportunity to reach out a helping paw - Very bad people skills, not good at comforting even though he always tries Likes: - The moon - The sun - Clouds - When it’s quiet - Being alone - Helping people - Visiting his mortal friends Dislikes: - People/spirits/cats overcrowding him - Angelic spirits, thinks they’re too eerie and, well, angelic. They creep him out - Cows making fun of him for looking a bit like them - Cows - Chickens - Very organized things/places/when stuff’s too organized - Mean spirits ・゚ Backstory: Tar was born in the Mortal world as a normal, plain Russian blue cat. However, the spirits were so busy with other new souls that they forgot about Tar, and hadn’t granted him a jumbled personality of negative and positive traits when he was born. This left Tar to develop himself on his own, creating his unstable and shy self. Over the years, he faded away from the mortal world without the proper attendance and treatment from the spirits. Leaving the humans that had loved him for the scaredy cat he was behind, Tar took an early department from the mortal world when he was 1. He didn’t die necessarily, though. When mortals died, they didn’t join the spirit world, they just stopped being. Normally, spirits had their own separate populations and lives, and mortals had their own populations and lives. Tar was one of the only spirits that had joined from the mortal world, the only other spirits who had done this had followed a path very similar to that of Tar’s; being forgotten by the spirits and left to strive for themselves, later joining the spiritual world. Tar, who had developed himself as clumsy, became a demon spirit. He made friends with some other demon spirits there, but rarely interacted with them as they spent so much their time pranking their crushes in the mortal world. It was their idea of fun, and Tar, who had a different sense of what was fun and what wasn’t, simply didn’t want to join in. “Hey, Tar, come here!” Nori was calling to Tar, her tail flicking impatiently from side to side in the moonlight. The moon never set here, nor did the sun ever rise. This is why Tar loved his trips to the mortal world most of all: He got to see the sun. He would spend hours bathing in peach-colored waves of heat, which would illuminate his fluffy fur and fall in streaks over his curved horns. “Nori, is it alright if I stay up here?” Spirits could stand on anything visible to the eye, and this included (Cont. in Notes and Credits)
(Cont) clouds and water. Stretching comfortably in soft wisps of mist, Tar didn’t want to move a muscle in his body until he had to. “Come on, it’ll be fun! Don’t you miss hanging out with mortals? I thought someone like you would be longing to come here and lay with your owners all day or something,” Quail noted matter-of-factly, unaware of the pang of sadness this arose in Tar. If only mortals could see and feel spirits. Talk to them, listen to them… But Tar’s humans would never see their kitten again, because Tar was far away from them. In a whole other world. “Maybe,” Tar whispered glumly to Quail’s shadow. Quail and Nori were now looming over him and staring down at Tar. This was making him feel quite uncomfortable, and he started to squirm a bit. “Fine, I’ll come and hang around for a bit,” Tar smiled kindly at them, hoping they would cheer up and stop crowding him if he agreed to go. Stumbling over some strips of fog, Tar glided down behind his friends into a dense forest which Tar had never explored before as mortal or as spirit. To Tar’s surprise, cats seemed to be lurking in the shadows, coming out now and then to share gossip with each other or converse hunting strategies with one another. Tar glanced at his friends through the translucent body of one of the wild cats. They were twisting vines around tree trunks, smirking while setting up clever traps around the woods. A female cat had just given birth, and Tar noticed an angelic spirit floating down from the heavens to join Quail in granting the new souls personality. Tar allowed himself a grin, thinking what mischief Quail was probably planting in the youngling's mind. Leaving Nori and Quail to do their thing, Tar started curiously padding around the strange, mushy ground, exploring his surroundings. Another cat was padding out from the roots of a large, moss-covered oak tree. They were a rather skinny chocolate calico, although that may have just been an illusion from the lack of winter fur. The cat had a very short, curly pelt and large ears, and was smaller than average. Just as Tar approached them, they made a swift leap towards the exit. Waving aside comments with simple swishes of their thin tail, they weaved through the surrounding cats and left the forest. Intrigued, Tar followed them. The cat slunk through the bars of a tall fence, and ended up in the outskirts of a large village. There were some houses here and there, and a couple of people walking by. Careful to keep themself out of the way, the wild cat strode easily across the roads as if she knew this path well. In minutes, they arrived at a hut with a large garden next to the front door. Trotting happily over, the cat prodded the gate open with their nose and entered. Apparently, they had come here for herbs, because they started violently clawing and chewing at the stem of a tall plant Tar wasn't familiar with. "Ugh, I wish this thing wasn't so strong," they grumbled, then flinched and jumped back. A human had banged open a door, and was standing, furious, holding a sharp shovel. "៛☊⍟ ✶❀⍟!!!" The human shouted in a language unknown to the cat, brandishing the trowel. Tar had understood though, and cowered. Any second now, there would be no cat. He had to do something. Even with him being a spirit, he could still affect physical objects and creatures: Touch trees, prod water, etc., though no one could see him. The cat was backing away. The person had them cornered, pressed against the fence. That's when Tar leaped. He scratched at the human's face, and dropping the trowel, he screamed and ran. Mouse would never know who their savior was. But ever since, Tar had come to visit Mouse. He probably knew them better than anyone even in the moral world knew them by now. He came to make sure they was okay. To make sure they would be okay. And to make sure they never left his side. One day, maybe, he would reveal himself to them. But you'll only know if I win him heheh :> Cause ye idk I'll finish the story if I win Tar ^U^ Oh gosh that's longer than I expected it to be- Anywayss,, I hope you liked the art, animation, and story, and I hope I get this bby bean <333 It's okay if I don't, but I'm gonna be making whoever gets Tar gifts every 5 minutes Heheh :D Aaaaa I love Tar bby- don't leave me Tar!!
