Wings of the Horizon ∞Prologue Prince Icebeam lay in his chambers, his elegant light blue scales dancing to the light of the moon. Rain trickled down the palace windowsill, and light shows revealed themselves in the darkest night. The castle shook, booms sounding one after another. The dragon prince rolled over to face the window, sighing as darker scales appeared among his paler blue ones. Prince Icebeam tumbled out of bed slowly and padded along his red carpet surrounding his large bed. He fluffed his beautiful cotton pillow and then delicately tucked his silk maroon covers under the wool mattress he was laying on. Leaving his room, he strolled down the empty castle hall. Usually, there were dragons of all kinds dancing the night away, but ever since his father disappeared, nothing was the same anymore. How he longed for the sounds of music in the castle! He pulled out an old pocket watch, recalling that it was his father’s. /It's only four.../ He thought, sighing. /Mother will wake up soon/ Continuing on his journey, the prince made his way into the kitchen, passing numerous doors. He reached into a cream colored cabinet, but a silver cup clattered onto the floor and a maid in the kitchen woke up. Her scales were charcoal and her wings were a dark grey. Her nightshade purple eyes met his bleu-grey ones. “What are you doing so early?” she yawned suspiciously.
