here you see different kinds of guitars. different headstocks, different wood standards, different shapes, different sizes, body strength, and more. when it comes to getting your first guitar, people make mistakes and buy the coolest looking ones, or the most cheapest, or if your flashy then you might go for most expensive, most jazzy looking, classy but then you end up with a guitar not suitable for you. here i have listed specifications of most kinds and why they are better than other ones
order, left - right. 1.SG series: what is this for? this guitar is a Gibson's original. they are used for that real nice and sharp rock* sound, and please dont get this mixed up with metal. they are different. so this guitar is quite pricey if you are not used to the guitar life and standards. these can come in other brands and i do know that some like Epiphone and ESP. this guitar does look quite familiar. why? AC/DC, a name of history. you will recognize the SG series guitar in the hands of Angus young. this was their very sound. 2. FAMOUSE Stratocaster by fender™ this is a very common guitar, and most of the time, if you are not seeing this in the hands of a historic or famous guitarist, you are probably seeing a rip off remake, which are very common. now these are made with the most premium American wood and ever so constantly advancing and evolving. these guitars, however, are not designed for that real distorted metal sound that bands desire, these are better known for blues, jazz, and even for just simple clean sounds. they use high quality pickups and occasionally, the amazing humbucker. this guitar does too, come in a budget type called the squire Stratocaster. that is made for lower budget players looking to receive the closest quality of Fender. 3. STANDARD semi-hollow body (semi-acoustic). a really classic looking guitar and quite nice looking but not to all. stating the obvious, this guitar is hollow (or named semi- hollow). there is a large support block running down the middle, then breaking the name of full hollow. these are best used for jazz. since the complete evolution of electric guitars, people realised that keeping the traditional style cut of guitars was useless, being that they now had the power to give them any style cut, but jazz guitarists where more interested in keeping that awful traditional cut. though. but, the reason to this is also to do with the sound it gives, which has attracted the wide jazz fans audience. this, i unfortunately dont have much understanding of because its never been in my interest but ill tell you, dont but one unless your a jazz guitarist. 4. THE telecaster by fender™ HEYY, didn't he already mention that??? nope. see Stratocaster and telecasters are different and not just in the physical body but in sound. now the strat uses 3 (or 4, considering a humbucker in cases) pickups, while the tele uses only 2, both different, now with the leaver set to the middle, it will run of both pickups giving a way more desired tone and sound, while the strat in middle position only runs of the center pickup. the positioning of the Centre is good but not as full as both top and bottom together. you will notice the difference in the headstock, how the strat has a very genuine cut shape while the tele has a more suffocated upper shape. this is how you can identify the difference from an upper perspective. overall, this guitar is suitable for clean, blues or jazz. 5. LES pauls. this is again a Gibson's original but the style is not domestic. it is commonly used with other brands and is extremely good for both clean and distortion. noticed, this guitar has attracted use of James Hetfield of Metallica. the sound does require a strong pedal though. it is very neutral with the sound and mostly suitable for heavier sounds. considering comfort, id say a guitar in this very shape is very very good for sitting players, because of the way it sits on the lap. there are other brands that sell these in its finest. 6. EXPLORER again, another Gibson's original but this guitar is actually more widely popular through other brands. another one you might recognize very well, because this is James Hetfield's preferred guitar. it has an awesome sound and tone. it is a custom and in cases, very very pricey, and I'm talking 16000aud (16x10^3, or 12k, usd). this guitar is best bought in its highest price other wise it is no different from most of the other kinds. most common, it uses the Humbucker* pickups. 7. ARROW series despite being like just so awesome, actually yk what? its just as good as it looks. being the owner of over 16 of these, i would know how amazing they are. the sound is unreal with or without excess pedals. this is so easy to play in a lower position while standing and playing at concerts, or if your a stand player when at home, but in terms of sit playing, this can be ridiculously uncomfortable. for starters you have to rest the curve at the bottom, on your lap, which trust me is very awkward to do, and on top of that, the edges and the sharp ball for attaching straps, leaves an awful pain in the leg. but apart from that its the best. * POINT REFERENCES -rock: now this word needed the asterisk because it irritates me when people mix rock and metal up. i mean for starters, rocks in nature and metals are very different, so i can say the same for the genres. rock is that very sharp toned music with high use of pinch and standard harmonics
