Welcome to Galaxy Breakout! (by @-FiFiZ-) + This is a breakout game, you simply hit a ball with a bat to break bricks that appear. You control the bat with the mouse. + Special power-ups fall of broken bricks, you can pick them up with your bat to obtain a special effect. + There are 3 game modes you can play, each has a different gimmick that makes it different, and each has its own Cloud (☁️) leaderboard for the best scores. + Quite simple game at first glance, but it gets harder, faster, and crazier as it goes on! + Combos are key for a high score; try breaking multiple bricks with one shot and it will grant you more points depending on the Combo multiplier. + Enjoy! You can put this project in any studio ever, you can also ❤️ &/or ⭐ if you liked it, hopefully you did. :D + CONTROLS : (Mobile-Friendly) - Mouse; control the red bat. - P; pause the game. + I'd like to see some competition, so I'll follow anyone who gets 1 billion at least on normal mode. ;) || Please share it with other people or put it in studios so we can see that competition going on! Thx :D + INFORMATION AND TRICKS : - Powerups ; x The red "x2" pellet; makes your bat smaller, but doubles the score obtained by the broken bricks. x The blue "bolt" pellet; makes the ball faster, it does reach a limit at some point to not be unfair. x The green "L" pellet; makes your bat larger. x The light blue "S" pellet; makes the ball spinny. x The red+orange "P" pellet; gives you an additional life, another ball if you will. x You can only have one power-up at a time, if you get another powerup, it replaces the last. - Combos; x You can hit multiple bricks with a single bat hit, which rewards you with more points. The higher the combo, the more points you get (It grows semi-exponentially). - Modes; x Normal mode; the original game mode, which has precise control of the ball when hitting the bat. x Round-Off mode; a more limited version of normal mode, with directions rounded-off to the nearest 20s, which gives you way less angles to work with. x Wacky mode; completely different game style, the bat placement doesn't affect the ball, it's always random. Plus, the ball is very very spinny, which gives it semi-circle trajectories. It also starts off at a high speed. - More Information and Credits ; x Before making this project, I made "Hyper Breakout", and it was quite a broken game. And after playing other breakout games, I decided to make one myself with more features and "meat" to it all. x The music I used here was the one I listened to while making the game. It's from Uno 2K17 by Ubisoft, quite the stuff for such a game. I thought at first to have Celeste's Mirror Temple (B-Side) as the main music, but this seemed better fitting as it is chill. x Inspirations were 's "Batty Ball Bouncer", 's "Erikanoid", 's "Brick Blitz", and 's "Uno Deluxe" as it introduced me to Uno 2K17's music. x I couldn't think of any names for this game except Hyper Breakout 2, but it sounded lame. After some time, I thought of Galaxy Breakout. The logo of the game is also referencing "Nano - The Arcade Shooter" 's logo, as it's drawn similarly. x I'm very glad that you're still reading, that means a lot to read about me ranting passionately about game developement. You deserve a golden trophy, maybe even a cookie. x Powerups are not very very random, they spawn in bags of 5, each time a brick gives out a powup, it'll take one from the bag. x The Cloud Leaderboard was made by me, it originated from Nano, then became more advanced in "Havin' a Ball", and here, it's got even more features, like 6 cloud variables for the 3 modes, score compression and decompression when hitting more than a million, more than a billion, or more than a trillion, which saves cloud space and allows room for more user scores and usernames. I failed however at including the level the user was at when getting a Game Over. But still, it updates in real time, so if anyone got in the leaderboard and you're on the title screen, it will update the cloud. x I did some sound effects in JummBox x This game is in my game contest "The Scratch Arcade"; Go check out if it's open if you want to participate! (It's written in the studio's title obviously.) x played it, he got 6th with 7.4k. too, but he unfortunately didn't get in the leaderboard. Great to see that the people that inspired me check it out. Other people that played; / / - Change Log; V1.1; Fixed game over on title screen. (Nov 1, 2021) V1.0; Original Release. (Oct 31, 2021) + Taxes; (thx for 24th on games trending in 3 days!)
