Well this is a strange hurricane. 12E of 1957 was a storm that was likely analyzed incorrectly, but the track is so absurd that I had to animate it anyway. This is a system that went from a tropical storm to a Category 4 in six hours, stayed a Category 4 for another six hours, before weakening back to a tropical storm six more hours later. This is that hurricane in all of its glory. It's been 64 years since this very interesting hurricane.
