Kenna stretched, opening her eyes. She saw Leo looking outside. “Leo?” “Yeah?” He said. “Do you know what time it is?” She asked “Yeah, 2 am.” “What!?” “2 am.” “What are you doing awake so early?” She laughed. He shrugged. She frowned. “Is there anyone outside?” “No, only zombies..” She looked outside. “Agh.” “Mhm.” Max stopped snoring, and jumped up. “WAA- ZOMBiES?! WHERE!?” Leo glared at him. “Shh! Outside,” Emily yawned, and sat up, slowly opening her eyes. “What-?” She asked sleepily. “Nothing, Emily, you can go back to bed,” said Leo softly. “No.” She said sternly. He laughed. She tried not to smirk. Kenna saw the zombies coming closer. “Everyone, quiet!” She hissed, getting down. Leo got down as well, and Emily hid underneath an old bed. Max got into a closet. Leo tensed, as he heard moaning outside, and bashing at the door. Emily squeaked, and Leo moved closer to her. They heard someone climb in through the window clumsily, and Kenna gasped, taking out her knife. The zombie toppled across the room, and fell over. All of the others seemed to have gone, and Kenna quickly got up, pulling Leo and Emily with her. “Hey, guys! Wait for me!” Max shouted as he ran after them. Leo let go of Kenna and grabbed Max, pulling him along with him. Kenna stopped, panting, and so did Leo, Emily and Max. “Do you think they’re gone?” Asked Emily. “I think so..” said Kenna. Max sat down on a bench, catching his breath. Leo sat down next to him. “I’m pretty sure we didn’t have to run this far away,” he told Kenna. Kenna blushed. “Heh. Yeah, I think your right…” Emily looked around. “Err..” “Hey, look!” Max pointed to a large oak tree and a pile of wood. Leo looked at them. “Yeah..So? A tree and some wood?” Max sighed. “We can make a tree house, Leo!” Kenna looked over. “Oh my god, yeah!” Emily hesitated. “But we don’t have any nails or anything..” she said. “Aww, man..” Max said. “Good idea, though,” Leo said. Kenna thought for a second. “Look, the wood looks like it was fresh though..” she walked over to it carefully. Max ran after her, almost tripping. It had been about half an hour , and they were all sat under a tall oak tree. “Nope. No one..” Kenna said, sighing. “We better get going. It’s going to get dark soon-ish.” Max said, looking at his watch. “Okay…” Emily stood up first, followed by Leo, Max and then Kenna. After a long walk, they saw an abandoned school. “Look!” Max shouted, pointing at the rotting school. Kenna ran over to it, and looked inside. “I’ll investigate it and make sure there are no monsters, okay? You guys stay here.” She started to walk off, but Max stopped her. “Kenna, you can’t go in there by yourself. It’s dangerous..” “He’s right. I’m coming with you.” Leo agreed. “Then I will too,” Emily said, holding Leo’s hand. Max nodded. “Same.” Kenna hesitated. “Well… Okay then, but stay behind me.” Leo sighed. “Fine.” Kenna opened the main door slowly, and stepped inside. She walked down the main hall, alert. “Aaaahhhh!!!” She looked around, pulling out her dagger. Max blushed. “Hehe. Sorry. It was me.” He grinned. “Ewwww,” Leo laughed. Kenna kept walking, into an old class room. Emily looked around. “Oh..” The walls were covered with little children’s drawings. There were tufts of hair, and Kenna walked over to it. “Werewolf hair..” she said, picking it up and examining it. “But it’s old.” Max looked at it, and took some. He licked it. “Yup.” “You are odd, Max.” Leo said. Max smiled. Emily walked out of the room, and into an older class’s room. There were some dragon scales, but they were old as well. Leo walked in. “Anything?” “Nope. Just these, but they’re old.” She held up the dull green scales. “Okay, good.. I think I’m gonna go check somewhere else then..” He walked off. Emily walked out, and into the bathroom. After a while, once she had found nothing, she walked into a small music room. She picked up one of the guitars, and played it. After a while of everyone investigating for any trace of dragons, werewolves, zombies, or any other monsters, they decided it was safe to stay in for the night. “Were do we sleep?” Kenna asked, looking around. “Well, there are loads of sleeping bags in this cupboard for some reason,” Max said, opening a cupboard full of brightly coloured sleeping bags. “But.. that won’t help..” He thought for a moment. Emily laughed. “Max, yes they will!” “We cOuLd sLeEp On ThE tAbLeS!” He said suddenly, lying down on one of the tables. “Or.. Erm.. I think I’ll just sleep on the floor..” Leo said, watching Max fall off. “Yeah, me too.” Kenna agreed. Emily nodded. “Yeah.” Max got up, grinning. “Maybe the tables isn’t a good idea,” he laughed. They heard a voice from down the hallway, and they all hid, except for Max. She walked slowly to the window, “Guys!” Max whispered once he had seen where it was coming from. “It’s another human!” He ran out of the door, and Leo ran after him.
