hi im so sorry im late but happy Dia De Los Muertos to those who celebrate it! there was a bit of an issue with my computer because i dropped it (i know im so smart) and then the screen broke. i got a new computer thankfully, so ... yeah. life. ok so if you don't know, Dia De Los Muertos--translated to Day of the Dead--is a celebration created by the Aztecs that was originally celebrated in the summer. Dia De Los Muertos is a holiday made to commemorate any loved ones that passed. however, Spaniards changed the holiday, so it is now celebrated from November 1st to November 2nd. The first day is to celebrate the lives of children that passed, and the second day is to celebrate adults that passed. families build ofrendas that honor loved ones, also shown in the pictures. they also decorate skulls, or even put makeup to look like a skull. Dia De Los Muertos is a joyous holiday, not meant for mourning, and the festivals are always colorful. people believe that on Dia De Los Muertos, the spirits of loved ones awaken and join their family in celebrations. also, no, Dia De Los Muertos is NOT HALLOWEEN. @sanity_shattered16 #diadelosmuertos #dayofthedead #moodboard #allsaintsday #sanity_shattered16
