All my life I've gone to an all girl school while my brother has gone to an all boy school. At a all girls school, you talk about the latest gossips and break ups while at a all boys school they talk about sports and video games I'm guessing. I've never known what happens at my brother's school, but it doesn't stay that way for long _____________________________________________ The school bell finally rang. The year of 6th grade is over. I got out of my seat and walked down the hallway to my locker. Locker 13. I've had this locker all school year. Some of my friends approached me while I was taking my lock of my locker. School was finally over. "You girls up for some spa time?" asked Betsy. Everyone giggled. "Finally. I've haven't been to the spa in like, forever!" shouted Amelia. "Nikki, you up for it?" I responded with a nod while I put my folders in my purple backpack. "Oh, shoot! Ima miss the bus! See you girls at 5!" I shouted as I ran for the front exit. They waved at me, and I waved back. Next year, I'll be in 7th grade! The buses were lined up outside. Bus 11. Right in front on my face. I walked towards it but I tripped to the ground because someone pushed me. "Ugh." I mumbled. I got back up and continued to walk to bus 11. My phone was in my dress pocket. I grabbed it and texted my mom, "On my way home. Getting on bus. I'll get Dax and Levi out." I but my phone back in my pocket and climbed the stars of bus 18. Next year, I'll get a bus that doesn't stink. "Heyyyy Nikki. Saved you a seat that's away from the boys." I smiled and sat next to Emily on seat 2. Is it weird that that boys and girls go to different schools but still have to ride the same bus? I looked back to see if Nick, my brother, was on the bus and sure enough, he was. "Didn't Nick say he was riding home with your brother." Emily shook the dirt off her new dress. "Ehh. Luca didn't feel good so he went home early." Great. All I needed was Nick to bother me on the way home. At least he was going to his friends house as soon as he dropped his stuff off. I looked back and saw other girls were jeans and jean jackets and dresses. It was a beautiful spring afternoon. The bus started moving and everyone sat down in their seats. "Nikki! I'm not going to be home. I'm just riding the bus because Derek gets off in a few stops." yelled Nick. "Well, that saves me some time. At least I can do what I want at home while your gone." I yelled back. I took out my phone to read moms text. "Okay, sweetie. Nick won't be coming home because he's riding the bus to Derek's house. See you soon. And have fun at the spa today." I smiled at my moms text. Dad won't be back home until 6 because he had to work double shift. "You going to the spa with Amelia and Betsy?" I asked Emily. "No. My mom is making me and my brother pack. We're moving to New York." I gasped. New York?! That's so far away from Kansas. "Your..leaving us? I thought we girls stick together!" I said to her. "It's not my fault we're leaving. My dad has a new job opportunity for more money. So my mom agreed to move us to New York." she responded. I looked back at the end of the bus to see Nick, Derek, and a few other kids get off at the stop just a few blocks away from my house. I pulled out my ear pods and played some One Direction on my phone. After a few stops, my stop came. "I hope we see each other again before you leave." I said to Emily. "Same." I waved goodbye to her and walked off the bus. I also waved at my driver then started walking towards my house. I walked up to a white-gray two story house. It was a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with a small backyard. Once I opened the screen door, Levi and Dax started barking and soon enough, I say Levi jumping on the door. "Okay, okay! I'm coming, you silly mutts." I opened the door to inside the house and shut the screen door. "It'd be better to leave it open to have some fresh air." Levi jumped on me and wagged his tail. Levi was a black germen shepherd and he was mine while Dax was a brown and white pit-bull and he was Nick's. "Okay! Outside." I told them. Levi and Dax both darted for the back door. When I opened it, they dashed out and chased each other. I decided to go upstairs and drop my stuff off while the dogs were outside. I played some music on high on my phone without the ear pods. But I heard the screen door open. I suspected that Dad was home early, but it was Mom. "Honey! Come downstairs! There's something I need to tell you." she shouted. I walked down the stairs with my phone in my left hand and my ear pods in the other. "Mom? You sure are home early. Everything alright? Something wrong?" I asked her. Mom smiled. "Nothing wrong. But your father and I have decided one something big." I was confused and asked 'What is it?' "We're moving!!" I gasped in surprise. "But for what reason? We're happy here. All my friends are here. I LOVE it here!" Mom put her hand on my shoulder. "You're going to be a big sister."
