Ok, now read. ___________________________________________ Gotta run, gotta run, gotta run run run, I said these words in my head over and over as I pounded down the halls of the museum corridor. My lungs and legs ached, but I knew that I couldn’t stop. There was something chasing me, and I had a feeling in my gut that if it caught me, it wouldn’t be pretty. But one question was burning through my mind, no matter how many times I told myself to keep running: Where was Dad? Hold on just a second. You don’t even know what I’m talking about, do you? Ha. Well, then, let me introduce myself. Hello, my name is Brookley Stone and I am 14 years old. I lived in San Francisco, California. Now, you're probably wondering, why did she say lived? Yes, people, I don’t live there anymore. But, that’s a really big plot twist, so I’m not telling you about that. Yet. But why would you care about this stuff anyway? You’re probably wondering why I was running. Well, it probably has to do with this amulet: (will draw a pic of the amulet soon) My dad gave it to me when I was 10. He told me it was a gift he made for my mother, but she left many years ago. I asked him why she left, but his brown eyes simply got sad, and he said nothing. When he gave me this amulet, he said something really vague and prophetic like, "Here, take this random necklace that your mother left here a while ago because you and this necklace are crucial to the fate of the world, and if you fail on whatever adventure you do, the whole world is going to explode and we all die." Well, not really, but it was something like that. But now I realize that what he said was true. Duh, duh, DUUUUH!!! Hahahaha. Just kidding. I mean, no, not kidding. The world really was in danger.
