Apologies in advance for the length of the instructions. INTRODUCTION Before I do anything else I would like to make one thing clear: This series is not mine, but @Constable-Angua's. She asked me to run auditions and trailers on my profile as it's slightly more viewed than hers. And she'll be the one choosing the voices. I'll only do so if she can't decide by herself. 'The Server' is her debut animated series. Every character still needs a voice, as Angua isn't happy to voice act and I can't whether I want to or not as my computer microphone is broken and I can't get a different one. (I don't particularly want to, anyway.) The character designs for the Episode 2 characters are a little rough as Angua doesn't need them for her animating quite yet; the final versions will look better. You can audition for as many characters as you like, but unless we get next to no auditions you'll only get to do one. 3. How many of the provided lines you record is up to you. And if you get your hands on the script feel free to do lines I didn't put on here. 4. Angua will decide not only on the sound of your voice and your acting ability, but on the quality of the recording (including volume, background noise, etc.) 5. Actually try. Angua would rather agonise between two perfect auditions than have to pick the best of a bad lot out of ten terrible ones. 6. Once we're picked voices, you will ALL be told whether or not you've got a part. In the meantime be patient. 7. Don't get heartbroken if you don't get the part. There will probably be more characters to come, and this is far from the only open audition. PRONUNCIATION GUIDE Adele: pronounced 'a-dell-ee' with the 'a' as in 'advertisement' and the second syllable emphasised. No 'ah-dell-ee' or 'ay-deli' or- worst of all- 'a-dell'. Angua says "I don't know how it's normally pronounced, but it's my series so I get to decide that." (I don't think anything in these lines should be challenging to pronounce, but Angua reminded me of how she wants Adele's name pronounced, and anyway not everyone's grip on language is necessarily as good as mine, so I decided to stick this in. So far it's only one word long, but if you have any doubts about other words let me know and I'll add them.) IF YOU GET THE PART Please note: Angua and I have never been involved in anything like this before, so we have no idea what the standard protocol is for giving and collecting lines to and from voice actors. If you do and the way we're running things is massively different from normal, I'm sorry, but we're just going to do it the way that works for us for now. Basically, you'll be given a link to the entire script for the first 2 episodes (currently a WIP), and we'll ask you to send a link to a project with your lines in it. Or remix the project with the script if you prefer. We'll contact you again for the next episode you'll be in, to check if you're still happy to be a voice actor. RELEVANT LINKS to see what this animated series is going to look like. This is NOT a link to the trailer. The trailer has not yet been shared, and when it does it will be on my profile. for the script. You'll need the codeword 'moose'. Actual information about the series, like the genre and whether or not Angua will make characters on request, will be answered there. (And yes, this really is the right link. It's cunningly disguised, that's all.) Episodes will be released on Angua's profile, but I'll be advertising them. Watch both of our profiles for more updates.
This is now closed! Thank you so much for auditioning, everyone; it's great that so many people were happy to audition for a fairly obscure series from a virtually unknown scratcher. Results are coming 6 May at some point after 00:00 GMT so for the majority of people it really will be the fourth of May and not the third. We were going to release these sooner, but for Reasons had to delay them.
