"Thank you so much, Sarah!" I'll see if my dad can tell me anything about Madeeha." "No problem, Amna. See you tomorrow!" ✩✩✩ She hopped onto her bike and started paddling. She rushed towards the house her dad told her. She knocked. The door creaked open. So she slowly walked in and saw Madeeha sitting on an old wooden chair. "Welcome, my dear!", Madeeha gave a meaningful smile and stood up to welcome Amna. "Umm... hello!", Amna nervously waved. She hesitantly sat down on the beige couch. "I have been expecting you for a while, Amna dear!" Amna was shocked, but she tried to remain calm. "Oh wait!", Madeeha walked towards the stairs, as if she was trying to remember something. She quickly went up the stairs. Suddenly, the lights flickered and turned off. It became pitch dark, but she could see a pale light coming from behind her. "Blackout!", she shouted. She wasn't afraid of the dark, but what she was afraid of, was about to happen to her! She turned behind, and barely stopped her screams. It was the "soul". She was dressed in white, just like before, but her hair was not covering her face this time. She was beautiful. Her white dress was emitting a weird pale light. "Be not afeard, sweet Child!", she smiled and said in her deep sweet voice. "Are... you...?", Amna was able to say only these two words. She started to back off. "Sweet Child, I have been waiting for thee for a thousand Years!", the girl tilted her head to her left and smiled at Amna. "I want thee to free mine Soul!", she continued. Amna heard distant footsteps coming down the stairs. It was Madeeha. The soul slowly faded away into thin air, and the lights turned back on. "Well, you must have found whatever you needed around here somewhere!", Madeeha said in a low voice. "Well, I... better get going!", she ran out of the door and slammed it She bent down on her knees and started to breathe heavily. "This... is too much for me to take in! I... I should get a nap!", she thought as she ran to her bike. ✩✩✩ The next day, Amna told Sarah everything. "We're getting closer and closer to our answer.", Sarah said courageously. "Now that we're sure I'm the girl who can communicate to ghosts, let's find the stone!", Amna excitedly said. Sarah looked down and sighed. "What is it?", Amna asked Sarah. "The man who killed Amal and trapped her soul, her descendants are alive! He... is the other one of the living writers of the legends.", Sarah revealed. Amna gasped, "Is Amal... the name of that girl?" "It is said in the legend that her name was Amal." They decided to immediately go to Madeeha's. ✩✩✩ "Welcome children! What brings you here today?", Madeeha welcomed them with a friendly smile. Sarah and Amna explained their reason for coming to Madeeha's house. "Well, my dear, I already knew everything, even before you moved here. I let you figure everything out yourself. Because everything has its own time to happen, and if I had told you everything, the balance of the universe would've been destroyed!", she explained. She continued, "So you realize you need the stone now? Hmmm... I'll give you a hint. There's a man named Abdullah, he's very old and weird, and hates children. He rarely leaves his house! He has the stone." Her facial expressions became suspicious. "Can you tell me something... your age, if you're fine with that?", Sarah asked curiously. "Older than a 100, but don't tell the doctor, 'cause he knows I'm 63!", all of them chuckled. ✩✩✩ The next day, Sarah brought her brother Umar. "He'll help us just in case we need to break in!", she explained the reason for bringing her brother. They hopped onto their bikes and followed Amna. She led them to where according to her dad Abdullah lived. ✩✩✩ It was a creepy-looking, weird, old house. "That's where I come in, with my plan of action!", Umar heroically jumped towards the door. "Shhh!", Amna pointed him to be quiet. He somehow managed to break the lock. They quietly walked in and turned their flashlights on. There was loads of creepy stuff and weird books everywhere. Suddenly, they heard a door creak. ╰┈➤ project ┊ credits music :: loco - itzy novelette :: mysteries of the white island author :: me ()
