Count from the upper right corner of the block Mario starts at to the upper left corner of the next block or use the coordinates in the upper left to find a and b. Then use the Pytahgorean Theorem to find the distance. Type in the distance and press enter. If you are correct, Mario drives up or down the ramp to the next block. If you are incorrect, Mario plummets to his death. You have 3 lives. After losing the 3rd life, it's game over. When Mario reaches the right side of the screen, the game restarts on the left.
