ooooo time to get CONTROVERSIAL !!!!!!! :DDDD 1. please do not put ACAB in your profile. 'BLM' is a better thing to put, or 'stop police violence' can also be good thing. But ACAB is just wrong, and promotes a culture of hate. It is true that our Police and Military is in need of reform and more strict regulations, but they are still here to protect us, and promoting the idea that every cop is a bad person trying to harm minority communities keeps them from helping, and also develops a prejudice and an unwillingness to promote or celebrate change in the system. Being a Cop doesn't inherently make you a bad person. It's being a BAD cop that makes you a bad person. 2. Please do not use so many Trigger Warnings. Writing 'mental health' as 'm3nt4l h34lth' doesn't make someone stop panicking if they were to panic when they see it. sometimes, a content warning is better, or a viewer discretion is good. that's what movies do to make sure people can decide whether it's right for them. but putting trigger warnings for things like 'blood' or 'the colour blue' or things like that, things that should get a content warning are things like: - graphic violence (i don't mean you drew a cat with a bunch of red on their face, i mean very realistic pictures of scarring, cuts or things that could trigger someone's PTSD) - loud noises, volume warnings, or things like that - swearing, if it's frequent - VERY VERY GRAPHIC DEPICTIONS OF MENTAL ILLNESS. i don't mean that you say 'she's feeling depressed', i mean graphic detailed pictures or writing of cutting, eating disorders, or other things that could trigger someone's PTSD - flashing lights or strobing colours another point i'd like to add onto this is this: people's triggers are usually SPECIFIC. for example, some of mine used to be things like fireworks, a certain name, certain songs, colours, and even clothing. you can't expect people to put a trigger warning for things like 'the song shut eye' or 'bandannas around wrists'. doing so only makes you look silly and overcautious. along with this, promoting a culture of avoiding anything that's bad or 'triggering', is actually HARMFUL, as it can keep victims from allowing themselves exposure to heal, and often can lead to a lack of knowledge on how to handle exposure to these things. putting 'TW: blood' is stupid, because it's assuming that that person will never be cut or see blood irl, and therefore should not be exposed online. that's pretty much all for now. thank you.
