The earth is being harmed because people are wasting water. According to the Environment Protection Agency, if a leaky faucet leaks one drip per second, the broken nozzle can waste up to 3,000 gallons of water per houre. Also, 10,000 gallons of water is wasted in each household in America per year. On average, Americans use twice as much water as they need to shower and use nearly 400 billion gallons of water per day. That's twice as much water as Europeans use in the same time period. We can stop wasting water by taking showers more and tub baths less. that would save an average of 50 gallons of water per shower. We can also fix and turn off the faucet when we are not using it, especially when we brush our teeth each morning. Turning off the faucet each morning while cleaning our teech can save up to 4 gallons of water. Saving water will help the earth because the extra water can be used to grow our foods and green the earth. There are many ways to do it, but if we can change one habit at a time, we will help to sustain the earth for the next generation.
