"it's cold!" he squeaked. a white warrior looked at him. The warrior's eyes were ice cold as warrior glared at him. "oh, if you hadn't known already that's snow," the tom snapped. Ferretkit's ears pinned back. the next moment he was bowled over by his sibling, Foxkit. "Hey!" he squealed. He rolled Foxkit over and pinned him to the ground. "Thats not fair!" Foxkit yelped. "Warriors don't play fair!" Redkit said, she was their sister. she was licking her chest tuft. At the other end of the clearing, The four other kits were playing Fish. "Im getting you!" A cream colored she-kit with amber freckles and splotches yowled excitedly. the kit leaped at a white tom with black freckles and a black patch on his eye. the tom yelped as the molly slammed herself down on the tom. "Im going to be the best warrior," a voice said from the camp entrance. Ferretkit looked up. >>So overwhelming<< he thought drowsily. A apprentice that was half-blind and lost an ear, padded into camp bragging about how good she was. Her mentor stifled a purr of amusement. Ferretkit's breath billowed up into the air as he scrambled up to listen. a moment later he found the conversation boring, so, he walked into the nursery. "Mom," He groaned. Russetstalk looked at him. "Im bored! when can I be an apprentice?" Russetstalk licked him between the ear. "Six moons," she said. "Why don't you listen to the elders instead of being with me?" "Why can't I be with you?" He squeaked. "I didnt mean it like that," Russetstalk said. "fine," he huffed and walked outside. He walked to the older kits. "Where is the elders den?" he asked a larger kit that had black freckles and a black spot on their eye. "Do you wanna get their ticks?" he teased. "over there. Are you going to listen to stories?" He nodded. "Can I come?" The larger kit asked. he nodded again. "Come." The kit said, and started walking to a hollow pile of clay with a hole in it. "Im Webkit." The kit said. "I bet your Ferretkit, right?" Ferretkit nodded slowly. "Beetleleg!" Webkit said slowly. "Don't wake him!" A voice snapped. "Sorry!" Webkit exclaimed. "OhhhHHHHhhHHHhh... Your with new litter aren't you?" "no just with the oldest." "OHHHHHHHHHH. what do you want?" "Stories!" Ferretkit squeaked. "Okay come in then." The voice said. "Im Grayear." The black she-cat flicked her ear, and then when ferretkit's eyes adjusted noticed that the ear was gray, he couldn't help but blurt out: "That's insulting." Grayear snorted. "I don't care. now for stories..." she paused then bent down to beetleleg. "I forgot my past now tell me a story that I forgot!" She snapped. beetleleg jerked his head away. "Tell me," grayear begged. "What bout' te' fox?" Beetleleg mumbled. "Oh! yes! The fox!" "Not te' one yah beat up. The one that beat yah up!" Beetleleg muttered under his breath. Grayear's eyes narrowed. "That piece of otter-dung," She said angrily. "Alright gather 'round." She moved into a comfortable position. as everyone shuffled close to her. "Now where should I start..?"
