Deserve was born to a family of 5. One sister, one brother, a mother, and a father. He was born in the city of a blizzard night. Moonlight was out hunting, so he left Winter to care for her kits alone. "Mama? Where's Dad?" asked Moon. The white she-cat glared her baby blue eyes at her daughter, giving her a lick. "He's out hunting for you guys. So I'm here to watch over you." Splinter pounced on Deserve, and pinned him. "Gatcha!" Winter wrapped her fluffy tail around Moon to keep her warm. "When will winter end?" asked Moon. Moon was always filled with lots of questions while her brothers loved to fight and play. Winter smiled at her. "Soon, my darling. Then you three will be able to go outside." Deserve looked outside from the hole they were at. -Outside. For the first time- His mind raced with excitement. Winter peered out into the opening of the outside world. Only Moonlight was allowed outside due to the fact that she was caring for the kits. Deserve walked up to her, his fur smooth and clean. "Something wrong, Mama?" he purred. She shook her head. "No, my dear." Splinter peeked his head out of the hole and shouted, "Dad's home! Dad's home!" A black tom with orange eyes appeared out from the outside. "Hi, kids! I brought you some food." Splinter pushed out of Deserve's way, Moon too. Deserve laid on the ground, watching his siblings eat all the food. He got up and ran over to try and get something. "Come on guys! Let me have some." he meowed. He pushed Splinter, but got pushed back. "This food's ours. You eat something else, runt." Deserve flattened his ears. He padded to his mother's side and curled up. "Moonlight.." she spoke. Moonlight put a paw between the fresh prey and the kits. "You kits have had enough." He picked up the prey and carried it over to Deserve and Winter. "Eat." he meowed, dropping it. Deserve uncurled from his ball and finished the mouse that his siblings had started. "Thanks!" _____________________________________________ "That's very sweet of you, Deserve. I've never met any cat like you before." purred Dusk. Deserve blushed a little. "Heh heh. Um..yeah. It's not a problem. I've always gotten my ways to get a starling." Dusk rubbed Deserve's chest. "And that's not the only thing. You're becoming a father." _____________________________________________ Deserve looked at his kit. He was a mix of black and gray. He'll fit in perfectly to the forest life. Dusk's ears pricked. Deserve turned around to see a fox. His first instinct was to protect his mate and his kit with his life. He unsheathed his claws, leaping at the beast. The fox grabbed him by his neck and threw him into a tree. "Ugh!" he yowled. "Deserve!!" screamed Dusk. His kit wailed. He stood up on his shaking paws. He plunged himself at the beast one last time and held on, pulling its burning orange coat off. The fox yowled in pain and anger. The creatures threw him into a tree again, but this time, he fell into the deep hole under it. He heard the crushing of bones as he tried to climb out. "Dusk! Can you hear me?" he yelled. No one responded. He waited for the scent of the fox to fade. Once it faded, his used all his strength to reach the top of the hole and stand on flat earth again. His ears flattened as he saw the bodies of his mate and newborn son. He sat in grief that day, and it was a day to be remembered. "I swear that I'll end you myself." he swore to the beast. _____________________________________________ Six tireless days Deserve walked to find a new home. He couldn't settle in the forest because memories were there and were meant to not be disturbed. He couldn't go back to the city to live with his parents because Splinter had killed them. And he couldn't find his siblings because they both left him and left together. He got frustrated and slashed a tree. He huffed then collapsed. All he needed was some water and food. He saw a shadow figure that was black and had orange eyes. It came up to him and Deserve recognized him. "Father?" he asked the ghost. Another ghost appeared from behind him. A white one with baby blue eyes. "Mother? Father?" he asked again. Winter nodded to his question. Moonlight flicked his tail and walked away. Winter gave her son the signal to follow. Deserve followed but kept his body low to the ground. In the distance, he could see a brown barn. "Is that were you want me to go?" They both nodded. Deserve darted to the barn that he saw in the distance. -This is it. This is were my parents wanted me to be.- his mind thought. He entered the barn. Scents were here from other cats but the scent that he smelled most of all was Dusk. ___________________________________________ "So you want to take us into battle against a fox? You must be mouse-brained. Six cats can't take down a fox." growled Snake. Deserve pinned his ears at Snake. "I am the leader here, so you do as I say. This fox...did something that happened long ago." Kaji, Madric, Splinter, and Dew both starred at Snake and
Deserve argue. "We're trying to figure out plan you fox-brains. So come on." hissed Dew. Deserve hissed at Snake to zip it. He leaped on top of a box. Kaji looked at Snake in sorrow. "You dunderheads don't need to think of a plan because I already have one." The she-cats and Madric listened while Snake just set of to a farther hay barrel. "It's simple. We track the fox, attack it, and destroy it. I've been tracking it these past moons. Now, I know where it lives." The cats looked at each other, smiling. "Should we attack it now?" asked Dew. Deserve gave an evil smile. "The sooner, the better." _____________________________________________ Deserve, Madric, Kaji, Dew, Splinter, and Snake all ran to the foxes den that fitted Deserve's description. "Snake, take Dew with you to the other side. There's another entrance. Make him come out. Come back once he's out. The rest of you, get ready to fight." he hissed to his rogue army. Snake rolled his eyes, but followed his orders and darted to the back along with Dew. Madric, Kaji, and her mate, Splinter, both ran the the sides of the first entrance. They all could hear yowling and growling. -I don't care if my army dies today. As long as this beast dies- His mind raced with anger and fury. But then, another group of cats raced to the large fox and started attacking it. “Rogues! Fall back into the trees!” he ordered. They all scrambled into the trees and watched the cats kill the fox. “It’s..dead.” exclaimed Kazi. _____________________________________________ He laid motionless on the cold solid ground. He was badly injured after putting up a fight with a badger alone. It was leaf-fall. “Over here’” meowed a cat. A small group of cats came rushing to him. “Must be a loner.” said one of them. He soon passed out of his injuries. ———————— He woke up in a strange place. A leopard like cat was tending to his wounds. -This cat must know what she’s doing- he thought. He looked at the outside of the den but didn’t get much of a view. “I’m Brightsong. You’ll stay here for a few days until your wounds are fully healed.” the she-cat spoke. He nodded briefly. -Brightsong? Odd name.- he wondered. He examined what the one called Brightsong was doing with the plants. He turned his head to the entrance again but instead of a view of the sky, a gray tom entered the den. “Your in Foxclan. Your safe. I’m Darkpelt. The deputy of Foxclan. What’s your name?” the tom asked. Deserve flexed his claws. “Deserve.” he responded. “Deserve? Odd. But I wont judge. Flamepaw will be fetching you food once she’s back from hunting.” The tom nodded to Brightsong then padded out of the den. -Foxclan? Where am I?- _____________________________________________ I decided to change Deserves name to Jet. And I’ll add the rest later. I had this finished in my inbox for a while, but forgot about it.
