I didn't quite know what I wanted to do for my Inktober this year yet, so we have a little witch on her way to harvest some magic crystals. 2. (Suit) This one is one of my least favorites. I was lacking in inspiration this day and despised the outcome of this drawing. Unfortunately, I decided from the beginning that I would not be redrawing any of the Inktober drawings this year due to lack of time. Vampire woman in a suit drinking blood out of a glass. At least at this point I know I want a little color--red, specifically--present amongst the blacks, whites, and greys. 3. (Vessel) This one isn't too bad. Originally, the ghosts weren't present, but I added them after around Day 6 because I thought the water looked empty. Here we have a pirate lady sailing on her little boat in ghost-infested waters because sharks are overused. 4. (Knot) This one I'm fine with; a girl with knotted, tangled hair, with random things tossed in. I particularly enjoy the presence of her cat. 5. (Raven) I remember loving this one after I finished it, whilst now my love has dwindled an amount and it is now one that is in between like and dislike. 6. (Spirit) Here's the beginning of something that comes into play later. My wonderful ghosties in their earliest stages--yes, there are more later on, in fact, quite a lot more--and their stunning glory. This is one I like, though it is simple, because of what it started. This was the beginning of my relization of what exactly I wanted for this year's Inktober drawings. 7. (Fan) I was lacking in inspiration the day I drew this, but I don't dislike it. I like her face--at least, what is visible of her face--and her silhouette as well as her red dress. 8. (Watch) My hatred of this drawing is absolute. I had no ideas whatsoever for this prompt, so took the least creative approach possible. I abhor it to no end, and wished with all my soul to redraw it--but I kept my promise to myself, unfortunately. 9. (pressure) Here is one of my favorites; it is the first drawing I created with one of my ghosties actually in a scene. I like the layout of this poor ghostie holding up their insecurities and all the pressure weighing upon them. I love them very much and I love this drawing very much. 10. (Pick) Here's one I dislike. I hadn't any ideas for this prompt, and simply put a witch picking her clothing for the day. It was then evident that it was not obvious she was a witch, so last-minute added words on her pajamas. It's just very sloppily and thoughtlessly done. 11. (Sour) And here is one I rather love. A girl; rather disinterested in the task at hand. I rather like to think that someone told her sarcastically to go make herself useful and brew some lemonade and, out of spite, she did just that and is now selling it to everyone but the person who asked. It's what I would do. 12. (Stuck) Here is another one of my favorites--though, to be honest, I adore all of the ghostie drawings. Within the ghostie drawings, this is around the middle. This one is more of an actual scene than Day 9. We have a ghostie stuck halfway in the human realm, halfway in wherever they come from, due to some sort of issue with this portal mirror thing. Their parent is trying to help them out, and rather failing, unfortunately. I do like this attic. 13. (Roof) This one is one of my absolute favorites, and one of my first attempts at giving ghosties distinction between one another. Here is Santaghostie, wondering how on earth they're supposed to travel down that chimmney. I've always wondered how Santa Claus would manage to squeeze down small chimmneys such as that of my house, as well as houses that have no chimmneys at all. Santaghostie is very confused and is clearly using all of their brain cells in an attempt to figure out how to get down there. 14. (Tick) Here is one ghostie drawing somewhere in the middle--I love all of them, but in comparison this is not at supreme adoration level. I didn't feel like drawing a small bug, so instead I drew a working ghostie flying fast in an attempt to get to work in time, as their watch ticks incessantly. 15. (Helmet) This one I was lacking in inspiration once again, so I simply drew a ghostie in a helmet. I rather like them, and Helmet Ghostie comes back later. 16. (Compass) I quite like this one--indeed, I enjoy all of the ghostie scenes with actual backgrounds, as I often neglect to work hard on backgrounds in my regular drawings; the simplicity of the ghostie design allows me to spend more time setting the scene. This ghostie is lost in the woods and, unfortunately, is unfamiliar in using a compass. I do hope they eventually find their way home. 17. (Collide) Here's where Helmet Ghostie returns, having collided with another ghostie and escaped without injury due to their impeccable helmet. They do feel rather guilty though, and I'm quite
certain they apologize later on. 18. (Moon) Here is a favorite among the ghostie drawings (The only drawings from Day 12 to Day 31). Here is a moment of childlike wonder, where a parent is telling a story to their young child about the Ghostie in the Moon. the child is clearly awed at this starry sky and the faint outline of the legendary ghostie in the full moon. 19. (Loop) Not one of my favorites in the ghostie series--I didn't know what to do with loop, so I had this Headphones Ghostie looping the music they are listening to. 20. (Sprout) Here is another favorite, though not absolute favorite (Still quite high up though), in the ghostie series. Here is Gardener Ghostie, watering a little sprout in their garden that will one day grow into the marvelous flowers that surround them, all of which nurtured at a tender age, all of which have grown beautiful and spectacular. (Metaphors, anyone?) 21. (Fuzzy) Another favorite. A young ghostie, sleepy, ready to listen to a bedtime story with their fuzzy stuffed bear. I like to think their bear is cherished and loved to death. That one childhood toy that one has sweet memories with, that goes with a child everywhere, that is synonymous with a best friend. 22. (Open) Another that's in the middle in the ghostie series. We have Helmet ghostie struggling to open a bottled beverage for their equally impatient friend, Headphones Ghostie. 23. (Leak) Here is a favorite. Plumber Ghostie is seen here fixing a leaky faucet, though they are very sleepy and would much rather be in bed. I absolutely love this drawing. 24. (Extinct) I quite like this drawing. I started off strong with this one, ready to draw a ghostie digging up some bones. I added some ruins in the background and instantly realized this was quite the mix of archaeology and paleontology. Thus, the sign. 25. (Splat) I just couldn't get this one image out of my head upon hearing the prompt of splat. I don't dislike it, but I don't like it that much. It seems rather sloppy, in my opinion, and I feel secondhand disgust for the poor ghostie about to experience a terrible sensation. 26. (Connect) This is the first of a pair of drawings, as the next prompt felt as though it belonged with this one. We have a curious ghostie bringing two wires together. 27. (Spark) The sister to Day 27, where ghostie has brought the wires together, created sparks, and has forever been changed. Look out world, this ghostie is now obsessed with the fire. 28. (Crispy) I love this. I absolutely love this. Santaghostie has returned, somehow having made it down the chimmney they were having such trouble with on the thirteenth day of Inktober. Unfortunately, all thoughts of giving gifts have been tossed aside with the lumpy sack as Santaghostie has been captivated by the crispy cookies awaiting them. They are fighting the temptation (but not really). Santaghostie has a new favorite child. 29. (Patch) Another absolute favorite that I love to bits and would defend with my life. A ghostie in a patched blanket, set up in a tent in the living room with a flashlight due to the power outage caused by the storm outside. In case you can't tell, they're terrified. 30. (Slither) This young ghostie has discovered the animal known as the snake and is in love. Poor snake is all I can say. As well as the fact that I pity this child's parent, who will be unable to seperate their child and their new pet, and will instead be forced to adopt this little reptilian cutie. 31. (Risk) Inktober is closed by this ghostie, crossing a dangerous and damaged bridge hanging precariously above sharp rock spires of certain death. I'm not exactly certain what would happen to this Explorer Ghostie if they suddenly found themself falling through the brilliant red evening sky. I rather enjoy this piece as well. __________________ All art and coding in this project is my own. The prompt list followed is the offical 2021 Inktober prompt list, created by Jake Parker.
