⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ Hey, and welcome to my entry for SGT V Quarter Finals!! I still can't believe I've made it this far through the competition; thank you so much to the judges for this awesome experience :D This is another original song that I wrote especially for SGT. (I had another song that I was going to enter, but I decided on writing a brand new one instead!) This one is a lot more personal than my last entry, and I hope you are able to connect with the lyrics in some way. I really wanted to portray how I'm feeling currently in life through the lyrics. I'm super proud of this song, and I really hope you love it as much as I do :D Again, thank you so much for this awesome experience, and best of luck to the other contestants :) ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
(Lyrics below!) Funnily enough, the lyric "riding a rollercoaster in the rain" actually came from one of the students at a drama class I'm currently attending. They were wanting to go to an amusement park, but couldn't because of the rain, and when they said that line, my teacher (jokingly) said that I should use it in a song. Well, I came up with that first verse on the spot! (but I didn't share it with them haha) All other lyrics by me :) Piano playing by me. Font from FontSpace, and image from Google. My sister helped me a little with the melody of the song, and the title as well, so thanks to her :) Lyrics: Riding a rollercoaster in the rain, Going up and down, round and round again, Riding a rollercoaster in the rain, Guess I wasn't prepared for the pain. Cause I wish I could be her, Wish I could be, Someone better, Better than me. Don't like the life I'm living, Can I restart? Hit pause and then rewind, Heal my aching heart. But I still wish I could be her, Wish I could be, Someone better, They say life is a gift, So thanks for the thought, But can I have the receipt? And I still wonder, If I'll ever be, More than me? Yeah I wish I could be her, Wish I could be, Someone better, Wish I could be her, Wish I could be, Someone better, Better than me. (also fyi, the line about life and receipts is actually from a short piece I published on a writing site - they say life is a gift....so where's the receipt? -)
