Imma just put a huge CW for homo/trans/queerphobia here :D ---♡--- This project goes over /some/ examples of what actually respecting a LGBTQ+ person looks like, and why some people who state that they're "respecting but not supporting" are not being respectful at all. ---♡--- Note 1: There's many ways you can respect a LGBTQ+ person that aren't listed here, but the main thing you can do is just let them live their lives and treat them like human beings. Parents do not have control over their child's gender/sexuality/romantic orientation. Friends do not have control over each others gender/sexuality/romantic orientations. Siblings don't have control over each others gender/sexuality/romantic orientations. Nobody has control over other people's gender/sexuality/romantic orientation. Note 2: I'm using gay as an umbrella term to encompass anyone who is not heterosexual. :D ---♡--- Vocabulary! - Gender Identity: How a person perceives their own gender. - Sexuality: How a person experiences attraction - Romantic orientation: How a person experiences romantic attraction - Ace: Asexual, someone who feels little to no sexual attraction - Aro: Aromantic, somebody who feels little to no romantic attraction. - Aroace: Aromantic asexual, somebody who does feels little to no sexual AND romantic attraction. ---♡--- Credits: Tysm to the influx of homophobes sliding into my messages, and leading to me creating this project /s I used Kleki for the graphics ---- #LGBTQ
