Welcome to the thirteenth SWC writing competition! This session, our wonderful amazing fantastic judges are @Stariqe, @-Alocasia, and @Sunshine_the_Rainbow. There will be first, second, third, fourth, and fifth place winners, as well as up to five junior winners, honorable mentions, and best plot, style, structure, character development, worldbuilding, voice, and fanfiction. The best poem and best non-fiction categories have been removed because it doesn't make sense to have a category for those genres when there's not something like a "best fiction" award and it can convey the idea that entering a poem or non-fiction piece means you won't get as many points if you win. However, you're still welcome to enter them and they'll be considered equally for other awards as all other entries! Poems and essays have placed in top 5 before, so don't let this discourage you from entering them :D The Juniors category is an award meant to give a better chance to less experienced writers, although we acknowledge that age does not always equate to skill. Entering this category will not reduce your chances of winning any other prize - it's just an extra opportunity to earn points. You are eligible to enter if you are 12 or younger. If you aren't comfortable sharing your age (or age range) online, that's completely fine and you can still enter for all the other categories ^^ Winning the writing competition could turn the tables for your cabin! The point values for each award are as follows: Best Fanfiction: 20,000 Juniors: 30,000 Honorable Mentions: 40,000 Best _____: 50,000 Fifth Place: 60,000 Fourth Place: 70,000 Third Place: 80,000 Second Place: 90,000 First Place: 100,000 How to Enter: Comment on this project and be sure to include: - The title of the piece - How you published it (discussion forum, project, etc. Please publish it on Scratch!) - The word count - A link to the piece, and - Whether you would like to enter the Juniors category For fanfiction entries, please also clarify what fandom it is! The maximum word count is 2,000 words, no exceptions. All entries are due by 11:59pm UTC on November 24th. If you need an extension and have a good reason, please comment here or on one of the judges' profiles before the deadline. You may not enter a piece that you have entered in previous SWC writing competitions, and you may only submit one entry, unless one of them is fanfiction. Any entries found to have been plagiarized will be disqualified. It's fine if the piece you're entering was written before this month ^^ If you have any questions, comment them and someone will answer. Good luck! I'll be deleting all comments except entries and questions :) based heavily on 's writing comp descriptions, thumbnail by me on canva, if there are any dates/times that don't make sense please assume that it's supposed to be a date/time that makes sense :) (and also tell me)
