Robinfox padded over, licking his bleeding shoulder once, then looked up, saying, “Hi, Lark, that was pretty awesome, could you teach me those moves?” “Of course,” Lark said sleepily. “Rest first,” Robinfox said, carefully encasing Lark with his warm fur. “Hey, Crowfox,” Mudstep, Foxdream and Bramblefang stepped towards Lark. “Why aren’t you living with the crows?” Bramblefang snickered, Foxdream looked beaten. “Cluck, cluck,” Mudstep tilted her head. “That’s what a chicken says,” Lark stated. “No, that’s what you say,” Mudstep laughed. “I’m not a chicken!” Lark shot up. “Right,” Mudstep looked sideways a little, “you can’t even catch a chicken!” “I’ll prove to you I can catch a chicken!” Lark said. “I’ll believe it when I see it,” Mudstep said, stalking out of the room. Embarrassed, Lark dragged in a full sized buck, Mudstep, Bramblefang and Foxdream staring in awe. “That’s a nice catch,” Foxdream said softly. “Foxdream, get over here, you’re not supposed to talk to her like that!” Mudstep shrieked. Duskcloud limped out of the Healer’s den, smiling shyly at Foxstreak before limping on. “Duskcloud, you’re not supposed to like Foxstreak!” Mudstep howled, bowling Fox-streak over. “He’s an idiot!” Duskcloud’s shoulders drooped, but she nodded slightly. “Hmm,” Duskcloud limped over towards Lark’s buck. She sniffed it, the scents watering her jaws. “Get away from that buck!” Mudstep shouted, dashing over to give the buck a hard kick. Duskcloud backed away and took a shriveled mouse instead. “This buck is mine!” Mudstep began eating it, but she only ate one leg until she was full. Everyfox including Foxstreak, Duskcloud and Foxdream crowded around the buck to eat. “Mm,” Foxdream licked her lips. “It’ll feed us for days!” they had only eaten a fifth of it altogether and everyfox was already full. “By the way, I don’t like Foxstreak,” Duskcloud snapped at Mudstep. "I like Duskwish!" Larkfox looked up, the scent of blood filling her nose. Where am I? I’m not in my bed! “Relax, little one,” a voice hissed. “I am here to warn you. Danger is coming, you are of the Fifteen. Rise up, and save us all.” “I-I,” Larkfox stood up, knees wobbling. A mamba slithered out from the ferns, “I am Dawnfrost, one of the Fifteen. You are an-other one, the most important one.” Larkfox narrowed her eyes, looked herself up and down, “But I’m no bigger than a raven!” “Ah, but you will grow after the battle,” Dawnfrost said. “I am not only in your dream, but in Hawkheart, Dustheart, Angelheart, Birchheart, Blueheart, Nova, Poolfrost, Robinfox, Luna, Redpetal, Riverash, Goldstripe, and Shadowstorm’s dreams.” “R-really, you can do that?” Larkfox stuttered. “Do not be afraid of me,” Dawnfrost said. “End is nigh, and you must be strong.” Larkfox’s sight grew hazy, but she saw Dawnfrost splitting apart to reveal the Dark Heart’s leader, Battleheart and Shadeheart, glaring at her. Then, spitting, they sliced open her dream as she woke up, spluttering next to Robinfox, dripping with a cold sweat. She realized Robinfox’s breathing was heavier, his tongue out in an attempt of panting. He shot up, startled and frightened. Touching nose tips with Larkfox, he sighed, relaxing his shoulders a little. “Did you have the same dream?” Larkfox asked. “W-what do you mean?” Robinfox’s panting started up again. “With Dawnfrost,” Larkfox said. Robinfox’s panting eased, “Yes,” he replied, licking down his spiked up fur. “I did have that dream.” “Good,” Larkfox dug deeper into his soft fur.
