WARNING: LAST LIFE SPOILERS AHEAD So I invented an epilogue for Last Life cause my heart hurt after the finale Scroll for story: *-----------------------------------------------------------------------* As the dust settled, Etho opened his eyes. It was strange. One moment he was bruised and bleeding, fighting for his life against Joel, in terrible pain. The next... He found himself standing at the gates of the afterlife, with all his suffering being but a distant memory. He peeked in, and there was everyone who had fallen before. They were chatting and grinning from ear to ear. And there he was: Bdubs. Etho hesitated. Maybe he shouldn't go in. After all, maybe Bdubs was mad. Maybe he would get kicked out.... Then his glance caught Bdubs'. Bdubs said something to Skizzle, and Skizz nodded with a smile. Etho ducked out of view as Bdubs began to approach. He felt his cheeks get warm. Now what? Bdubs walked outside and looked down at Etho, who was sitting with his back against the wall. He waited just a moment, then sat down beside him, tucking his knees up against his chest. Finally, Bdubs spoke up. "You're here." Etho nodded, unsure what to say in response. There was an awkward silence, then Bdubs blurted, "Y'know, I've really missed you." Etho looked over at him. "R-Really?" Bdubs nodded, blushing ever so slightly since he had spoken up like that. "Y-yeah... I mean, this place is awesome, don't get me wrong, but... It can't be the best without the E, right?" Etho chuckled. "I guess so..." He hesitated. "You're... You're not mad?" Bdubs cocked his head to the side. "About what? The fact that you didn't give me the life in time?" Etho nodded, looking away. Bdubs smiled. "Of course not." Etho's jaw dropped. "You're not??" Bdubs just shrugged. "You tried your hardest. You even helped kill Grian to avenge me. So, I don't think I can be mad." Etho smiled. "Thanks, buddy." Bdubs grinned. "You're welcome. Now, are you ready to come inside?" Etho nodded and stood up. He pulled Bdubs to his feet, and... "Mhm!" Bdubs exclaimed. Etho had thrown his arms around his friend. "I love you." Bdubs was shocked, but his heart soared. "I..." He breathed, hugging him tight. "I love you too. Friends forever." Etho smiled.
