This is for display purposes only. Testing out different sizes for game tiles that are usually 16x16 by default, but resized to scale during the game runtime. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Pressing any key, or clicking changes the map options. There is only 3 options right now. ------------------------------------------------------------------ I am HOPING to get started on this Mega Man sandbox game on Scratch soon. Maybe. I'd like to include as much assets as I can as possible, with a lot of freedom that other Mega Man game engines don't have. It will take a while to develop though.
Choosing a map grid style for tile based games is harder than you think. They can be big, or really small. - The first option is too small IMO. Interestingly enough, Scratch has an even smaller grid named 'Xy-grid-20px2', which is 24x18 tiles. - Personally I like the second option, because it' is closer to the Nintendo DS's screen size, just upscaled accordingly. Also it is the same definition of tiles that Scratch's grid background labeled 'Xy-grid-30px' uses. - The third option is tolerable, but still kind of big, and shows less tiles per screen. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Mega Man belongs to Capcom. The sprite is just there for a reference on different sizes of how big or small our games map "could be" scaled to when designing your world. ------------------------------------------------------------------ #Grid #Map #Tiles
