disclaimer [any crediting is better than no crediting!!] this is a project (not naming any @'s) just regarding and explaining the half-crediting i've been seeing. - - - how hard is it to properly credit someone? put their actual username, and not their nickname? add an @, and not just leave the username out there; an unclickable, failed attempt at being honest. - - - then there's the @.username issue. first of all.. what?? what does adding the period do, except for ruining the credit? tagging the person allows their username to be a clickable link that gives everyone else easy access to the person who made something for you. why would you take that away from the creator? news flash: if you remove the . then you've credited properly, plus you get another character space in your bio! if you think the blue tag ruins your 'aesthetic bio' or your color scheme and /that's/ why you don't have proper credit in your bio, you need to get your priorities straightened out. - - - then the crediting with nicknames. saying like 'bio credit to ruby' or 'icon by lauren' or 'banner by bob' DOESN'T CUT IT. (@roseiibyy_ gets so much half-crediting or no crediting :/ give her credit for the bios pls thanks. she even asks you to give credit in her bio and on the project!) this one is almost worse because guess what: even though you may know who you're talking about, *literally nobody else does.* your friend group does not extend that far, you're not as cool as you think!! so just tag the person, and properly credit! it's really not that hard, and it benefits everyone <33 - - - not crediting properly actually hurts creators feelings! in the words of @coralsong :: [ "i found someone using my art base and at the bottom they credited me as '@/coralsong' and the slash is such a tiny detail but it felt so rude because it was put there to stop people from being able to just click the link and go to my profile and see all the art ive made. i rlly dont think they did it w/ malicious intent but it still felt disrespectful [luckily they did change it when asked :) ]" - - - in conclusion, it's not too hard to properly credit someone. so why not do it? please change your 'credited' nicknames to actual tags, and remove dots and slashes from after the @. thank you :)
