So I had an idea to start doing these "life updates" every once in a while just to let y'all know I'm still alive and doing well. Just a short project saying what I've been up to recently. So today's special occasion (11/19/21) was that I finally beat the final boss in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild! (SPOILER WARNING FOR BOTW AHEAD!!!! You have been warned!) I got the game using my birthday money back in September and I wasn't really that good at it (I'm still not amazing, but hey, I've improved enough to beat the game. That counts for something), but over the past few weeks I'd been trying to get a lot better at combat and whatnot and prepare for the final battle. I had tried to fight Ganon about a month ago but was severely under prepared (I didn't have the master sword, my armor wasn't enhanced in the slightest, I didn't have any ancient arrows or if I did I had like 2 or 3, and I didn't know how to do a perfect parry) and obviously lost. Just trying to make it through the castle I died several times. After that I didn't play for a couple weeks haha... but once I came back I was determined to win. With the help of several guides (bc sometimes I can be kind of incompetent), I got the master sword, found all of the fairy fountains and maxed out my Knight's Armor set, learned the perfect parry, and used said parry to get tons of ancient parts to get tons of ancient arrows. I also may or may not have used a guide for the final two boss fights *nervous laugh* But either way, I still see this as a huge accomplishment and I highly HIGHLY recommend botw if you like story based/free roam/fantasy games. The combat is pretty easy to get the hang of (with the help for some guides and tutorials if you're like me) and the story is really well rounded and unique. This was my first time playing a real story-based game like botw and it did not disappoint. 10/10. I look forward to going back and trying for full completion, though that'll probably take me a while.
