Mālama Honua, meaning take care of the world, although this may sound complicated it can be very simple! One way to impact the world for good is to conserve water because the 1% of water here on earth is usable to humans, the rest is salt water. Although saving water is easy to do the average American family uses more than 300 gallons a day doing typical everyday things like showering, car washing and flushing the toilet. To save water you can just turn off the water while brushing your teeth. That saves up to 200 gallons per month. Did you know that you waste about 60 gallons per night by taking baths instead of showers. You also waste up to six gallons per minute by using a hose to wash your cars instead of using buckets and sponges. If you don't fix leaks you waste about 200 gallons of water per day! So the next you turn on the drain, or sit in a bath, or even flush a toilet, remember, all the water, and maybe re-think your decision. By doing this you could be helping to save the world!!
