So a couple days ago I saw somebody CLAIMING MY ART on another website. I reported it and got other people to report as well, and it got taken down. I made a drawing about what happened, and the website TOOK IT DOWN saying I was being rude and unreasonable. Here with Scratch, I've seen many projects about Scratch's guidelines and it looks like they are promoting stealing + recoloring. (Not on purpose, of course, but kids might not know better, and once their time on Scratch is up, they might do it on other websites that could get them in serious trouble.) Sure, Scratch was built on the remix button, but if somebody doesn't want you to, DON'T DO IT. That is NOT Scratch's call to make. It is the owner's INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, and Scratch cannot force them to agree with the recoloring and remixing standards. This has happened to me on previous accounts. I was very unhappy with the outcome, as Scratch took down my projects talking about it. If Scratch takes this one down, I will be seriously disappointed and may consider leaving Scratch as this is not okay for people to do. I am not afraid to shed light on this problem. If I say "don't recolor" then DON'T, and Scratch, that IS NOT A CRIME to have rules on your art. I get that y'all have rules and stuff but if people don't want others to use their art, you shouldn't take down the artwork until they change the rules. If artists stopped posting because of this reason, what would Scratch become? Art is one of the main concepts OF Scratch. I am very disappointed with Scratch and I am not afraid to say that they need to do better. This is a very low point for them. We need every artist (or person who has had these troubles) to stand together and say "this is wrong" because it is. Thanks for reading through this (I know this seems repetitive heirfuejkfhuejirfh) @StrawberryBookworm12
If anyone else is having these troubles, feel free to let me know and I will do my best to help.
