Humans are slowly poisoning our planet. "The greatest danger to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.” This is everyone's fault! Synthetic materials take a very long time to decompose! That water bottle you saw on the ground last week might take about 450 years to fully disappear! In the meantime, animals could mistake it for food, and that can be fatal for them. Remember learning about food cycles? Imagine a fish eating a bottle cap for instance. That fish is caught, and eaten by a human. That human has ingested plastic! Because it is synthetic, it doesn't decompose quickly, causing health problems. This is true for other living beings too! This phenomenon is similar to that of carbon fiber, another synthetic material. People who work with carbon fiber (art, sculpting, etc.) have to wear respirator masks because breathing in its dust can be harmful. The molecules of carbon fiber that might go inside you don't decompose and can cause breathing problems. Everyone needs to do their part because everyone is affected by this trash. You can help Mr. Beast and Mark Rober clean the seas by donating to teamseas.org. They remove one pound of trash from the ocean for each dollar. Spread awareness about this topic!
