Hi, everyone! So, this is the final in-cabin weekly for this SWC session and I hope you enjoy it! This sort of plays on some of the ideas I had for this cabin that unfortunately didn't work out. I had so many big plans I was so excited about and I'm sorry I didn't have the time to get them started. One idea was a scavenger hunt. That's sort of dead, I think, but that's where we get the first part of the weekly! For this first part, do some research on how something hidden can be retrieved, whether through a code or even cybersecurity stuff, and then write 500 words about it! This can be about a certain cipher and how to break it, a cipher you design and how to decode it, a basic cybersecurity vulnerability (Python jinja2 template strings or XSS vulnerabilities are good ones to get started if you'd like! If you hack something, though, make sure you have permission to do so. Otherwise it is illegal. But cybersecurity is a great field to get into and then there are many things you can learn from it as well!), or even a way to open something tangible such as a puzzle box! Another idea we had was a genre familiarization activity. That's where we get this second part! Click the green flag and it will generate a set of 3 random genres. Now your challenge is to write 1000 words combining those three genres! It's great to get familiar with different genres you're unfamiliar with, and combining them is a great skill to have too! If genres seem completely incompatible, you can try again, but I'd challenge you to go with the first one! And the last idea was a collaborative story. See https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/560748/?page=1#post-5810841 for more details on this one. And I'm sorry for not being super active this session. I wish I could have been, but I know Vi has been a great leader to you all and I hope you've still enjoyed your time here! :)
