Fresh water is very important to all living things. Because 97.5% of Earth’s water is saltwater, the other 2.5% is freshwater. Nearly 70% of our freshwater is frozen in our icecaps. This makes freshwater very limited. Fresh water is important because it keeps us hydrated, grow crops for food, and helps plants live. The average American wastes about 150 gallons of water per day. Also about 400 billion gallons of water are used in united states per day! Wasted water can affect us in the future, for example, it may cause deserts/droughts. To help this situation we can conserve water, by taking shorter showers, turning off the faucet while brushing your teeth, and reuse your water by giving it to plants. Showers can contribute to 17% of your home total water consumption! A good strategy to conserve water in showers is easy. You can put a one-gallon bowl/bucket in you shower to reuse the water. If you use the one-gallon bowl then you can reuse all the water that you caught. It's like recycling water!
