a photon began a journey to the nearest star (proxima centauri system) at lightspeed when this project was made, it arrived in early 2026. (4.2 light year long journey) consider this a sequel to my "if the moon were only 1 pixel" project was 0.1% done in 1.5 days was 0.5% done in 1 week was 1% done in 2 weeks was 5% done in 2.5 months was 10% done in 5 months was 25% done in 1 year was 50% done in 2 years was 75% done in 3 years
the giant grey circle you see around the sun is the oort cloud (accurate scale), a hypothetical mass of asteroids and planetesimals that wander around space, the tiny white dot you see is where the oort cloud stops and the actual solar system begins. in this scale, Neptune's orbit would be around 0.06 pixels wide.
