--------------------------------------------------------------------------- [hold click to zoom in, fullscreen highly recommended] aaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA bro i worked on this for like five days???? ITS FINALLY DONE !!! about two weeks ago i was out sitting on the deck by the pool reading a book when i noticed a bunch of the brightest leaves had fallen on to the winter tarp- they were under a layer of rainwater, but the golden hour light perfectly highlighted the piles of them drifting slowly around. they looked so so pretty <3 i wanted to capture that so i made this :] if you look close you can see faint leaf shapes at the bottom of the creek too, just like they were at the pool !! okay pixel art is super tedious but so worth it. i figured out pretty quick that i can't just hold down and scribble to create texture; i had to draw the lines separate,,, all the wood grain and grass blades and dirt texture is made up of a million and a half brushstrokes ._. every once and a while my wrist would start to hurt so i would literally just slap the life back into it and power on, all in the name of pixel art i really wanted to be daring with the shading!! dark purple shadows and bright yellow sunbeams. i hope i captured that golden hour sheen!! im super proud of how the lighting turned out and all the lil details (mushroomies, leafs, pebbles, creek details, etc!!!) im especially stoked about the texture on everything :] (reminder again that fullscreen is highly highly recommended to look at this in its full detail!!) anyway yea i'm as happy as can be with the result and i'm glad i decided to go read out by the pool that day, otherwise i wouldn't have been struck by the inspo for this !! i hope you enjoy it too :D i love pixel art so i'm definitely doing more stuff like this in the future --------------------------------------------------------------------------- don't repost my art; there are several hidden signatures in here. thieves be warned! song is woodland by the paper kites!! their woodland ep has great autumn vibes, go listen to it code by @colorsnatch ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
