Amethyst always asked about her mothers older brother, Uno. Since her mothers mother had two children she named them Uno and Dos, for the number of children she had. “What ever happened to him? What if you were in his visions?” she asked. Before father could turn around to open his jaw, mother flapped her wing open. “We don’t talk about Uno-no-no-no-no. We don’t talk about Unooo.” Dos placed her talon on her purple daughter and they were somewhere else. “But! It was my wedding day.” Blacksight interrupted her. “It was our wedding day.” Dos flared her wings open. She had a little gown of flowers on her head to her neck. “We we’re getting ready. And there wasn’t a cloud in the sky!!” Her blind father placed his talon on Dos. “No clouds allowed in the sky.” Amethyst was dancing a little to the song. “Uno walks in with a mischievous grin.” Lighting stroke behind Amethyst, witch spooked her. “Thunder!” yelled Blacksight. Dos starts to walk off, “You’re telling the story or am I?” He grabbed her hand. “I’m sorry, mi vida, go on.” Dos gave in, then continued talking about her brother. “Uno said ‘It looks like rain.’” Blacksight flared his wings up. “Why did he tell us?” Blacksight and Dos were now dancing. “In doing so, he floods my brain.” Blacksight grabbed a umbrella made from leaves. “Abuela, get the umbrellas!” he roared. Amethyst took a step back. “Married in a hurricane!” Blacksight set his wing around Dos. “Oh, what a joyous day but anyway.” They both started walking up to her and both said. “We don’t talk about Uno, no, no, no. We don’t talk about Uno.” Crescent appears and her parents were gone. “Hey! Grew to live in fear of Uno stuttering or stumbling. I can always hear him sort of muttering and mumbling. I associate him with the sound of falling sand. Ch Ch Ch.” Amethyst was always terrified that her cousin could hear almost everything. "It's a heavy lift with a gift so humbling. Always left Abuela and the family fumbling. Grappling with prophecies they couldn't understand." Crescent got up close into her face. "Do you understand?" Crescent disappeared. Amethyst's twin brother, Yoru, now appeared, scaring her. "Seven-foot frame." Yoru looked like Uno from mothers' point of view. Rats came along his back. "Rats along his back." The rats now crawled down. "When he calls your name, it all fades to black." He leaped over her, and flared his wings out. "Yeah, he sees your dreams and feasts on your screams." Amethyst fell into a black hole and saw everyone. “We don’t talk about Bruno-no-no-no. We don’t talk about Bruno!” they all said. “He took me my fish would die. The next day, dead!” roared a Nightwing. “No, no.” said some dragons. “He said I’d grow a gut, and just like he said!” said a large Nightwing. “No, no.” they repeated. “He said that all my teeth would disappear, now look at my mouth.” said a Nightwing with no teeth. “Your fate is sealed when your prophecy is red!” Acapella flew gracefully down from the sky. “He told me that the life of my dreams would be promised, and someday be mine. He told me that my power would grow like the grapes that thrive on the vine.” Amethyst tries to fly away, but Crescent stopped her. “He told me that the man of my dreams would be just out of reach. Betrothed to another. It’s like I hear him now.” Acapella walked up to Amethyst. “Hey sis, I can not a sound out of you.” “I can hear him now!” repeated Crescent. “Um, Bruno.” Amethyst started. “Yeah about that Bruno. I really need to know about Bruno. Give me the truth and the whole truth, Bruno!” “Acapella, your boyfriend is here!” teased Yoru. Everyone’s part clouded Amethyst’s head as she searches the scrolls about Uno. After a few pages, she found out that her Uncle would do anything to get what he wanted, even k!//. “Why did I talk about Bruno?” “Not a word about Bruno.” her family reminded her. “Never should’ve brought up Bruno.”
